Both he and his wife were infected and hospitalized. She survived but he didn't. They have 2 boys aged 2 and 4. As you said, they don’t know if they have diabetes or comorbidities as they don’t check yearly. And they are careless as well. Don’t know stats, but India has a lot of deaths from heart failures also in that age group under-40. Obesity and not keeping fit could be the reason abc 1

Obesity and not keeping fit could be the reason Majority of the Indians have some sort of comorbidities. Diabetes is a major one. But it is perfectly manageable. Even HIV is manageable. They have incredible medicine these days. They can live longer than normal people with those medicine. But this is a completely different animal.

One of the big shocks after moving to TN was drunkard state that it had become. Bit like rural areas in Maharashtra and definitely like Kerala. People drinking and sleeping at unhygenic places drinking cheap liquor, making life difficult for women and children. And this is Chennai. I remember writing an essay in competition success to rally against degradation of this great culture. PS No problems in them drinking. This was not healthy and causes great deal of social malaise.

I still have to sit and count how many people I know, are close to me, have lost someone. Its a list and it is quite big. That is why I dont want to put it. While we grieve for our losses, this thing is far from being over yet. We have duties, please do your part, help someone.

How do we know it? I don't listen to any govt news/guidelines, just be aware in SM/WA/Etc. Lazy buggers
ravishingravi Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 I think let’s not push on mask thing. Those who want to protect themselves, they will. In India, not much more is possible. We back our immunity and fate. To be honest, I recall a foreigner once told me years back that coming to India has made him believe in god. Cause only god is running this country. And it’s largely true. It should be an absolute free fall and it isn’t. No one knows why. Vaccination plus herd immunity we are there in 6 months. Or that’s the hope.
