rangeelaraja Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 OP has some delusions. India in general has very poor civic sense. It has nothing to do with religion. Although what TJ did DELIBERATELY is unpardonable. I know people who have lost lives in Nanavati Hospital - they got infected in the hospital because the staff was not vaccinated and had COVID. With these standards in one of India’s premier private hospitals - you cannot expect anything better from the common man. sscomp32 1

But you have to accept that the scale and crowd density of Kumbh, coupled with the fact that it attracts folks from all over the country, make it an especially egregious and dangerous one to "allow". I mean, I would have been completely supportive if the government beat the behinds of those "farmers" and sent them packing in the name of COVID prevention. Or did the same for other events. coffee_rules 1
ravishingravi Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 Each such incident takes us one firm step towards Hindu rashtra. Now I am trying to really understand the underlying philosophy of the positions taken by liberal left. What do they think they will achieve ? The only thing I can think is that 20 % vote bank is now the final bastion between 10 year rule and 100 year rule. Breaching the 20 % vote bank would be decimation of Nehruvian India and all coterie / lutyen club that evolved from it. This 20 % can be used to hold rulers hostage and in check. But at what cost ? sandeep 1
coffee_rules Posted April 16, 2021 Posted April 16, 2021 Chairman of RPG Enterprises which own CEAT Tyres. Only in India can such people mock religion and not attract fanatics’ call for their head except for certain community sscomp32 1
EnterTheVoid Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 We truly are our worst enemy. How can we expect others to respect our customs and traditions when we can't respect it ourselves? The debate of faith v/s health, in the context of Kumbh, had some merit. But these pot-shots by the like of Mr Goenka are so unnecessary. sandeep, sscomp32 and coffee_rules 3

ravishingravi Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 For Dharma to succeed, we might have to stop depending on patriots. We might need those who are truly devoted like this guy.
ash Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 If you were against Jammatt last year but support kumbh now, you are a moron, and if you supported Jammatt but against Kumbh now you are also a moron. People indulging in whataboutery on both sides are fools. Any sensible person would advocate to stop ALL religious functions, especially now in middle of second wave. Religious idiots and power hungry politicians are killing people. Mariyam 1
coffee_rules Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 People giving out idiot/moron certificates for defending religious events, but are mum on political rallies. What should we call them? All gatherings should stop or don’t cherry pick your favorites . mishra 1
coffee_rules Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 Media fake news peddlers are showing previous years pictures and peddling the narrative. The participants are supposed to show negative Covid certificates, the Ganga snan has been made symbolic on request and contact tracing is done. These people are throwing 2000/5000 without any verification. Not defending this, but know the difference in handling religious events https://twitter.com/oldhandhyd/status/1383076567790718980?s=21 mishra 1
ash Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 (edited) Why should anyone even compare both the events and try to find which one is "better". This left Vs right fight of comparing these two events takes away the main fact, any kind of super spreader event is bad, irrespective of the religion. Spin it all the way you want, there is absolutely no need to compare the events, both are morally wrong. Edited April 17, 2021 by ash Bigg Brother 1
dial_100 Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 I think this is wrong. Should have avoided this. At KM, the participants are proving that they are no different from crowds at the market places and marriage gatherings. Personally to me, those who participated in political rallies, and called/allowed political rallies and those farmers protest gatherings were worst. TJ should not be compared to anything. I think there are many things that were/are wrong. KM should not be picked up on. coffee_rules 1
mishra Posted April 17, 2021 Posted April 17, 2021 (edited) @ash Try attending Kumbh and you will see how many hurdles and checks are there. While principally Kumbh needs to be scrapped as NO one saw Corona coming, but so do factories trains buses and all businessess. And if you forgot, Markaz happened when everything was shut, so ffs don’t think people can be easily fooled into drawing analogy. Btw Kumbh is not just any gathering now. A lot of money goes into it and gvmt expects some business activity due to it. It can not just scrap it when it is expeting some tax recieots and business activity. Okay, there is discrepancy in numbers by different news handles, Hindu is reporting 1000,IE showing 2000, obviously ANI's numbers are official, Any religious congregation or Political rally is unnecessary and harmful at this point, they will just add on to ongoing chaos, no matter how many measures we take, the virus of such nature which is heavily contagious and severely virulent(new strain) - even 1 case is enough to undo all those measures/efforts. This 179 cases could have been avoided who in turn will infect people in their surroundings thus increasing pressure on hospitals. ash 1
wanted_desi Posted April 18, 2021 Posted April 18, 2021 There is no way to defend any type of gatherings at this moment when people are dying due to lack of beds left and right. It doesn't matter what religion, voting or cause that gathering is for. ash 1
