Popular Post Texan
For CSK's own benefit, Dhoni should be batting below Curran, Bravo, Thakur, Jadeja. If CSK lose 8 wickets late in the innings, then he can take singles and give the senior batsman the strike. If CSK lose 8 wickets early, then he can play his "classic" innings and "rescue" the team. speedheat, The Dark Horse, sage and 10 others 1 7 4

zubinpepsi
no one is talking about his slow innings.. sucking up the momentum.. literally no commentator in tv or cricinfo/cricbuzz are criticising this knock.. In tamil commentory , RJ balaji talked about CSK following the old concept of waiting for the last 2 overs to go big when dhoni was batting slow, srikanth dint say much other than sam curran should have come earlier.. i have no hope of something changing.. have to wait for this guy to retire himself.. until then.. have to suffer seeing his atrocious batting raki05

Even former senior cricketers like Gavaskar don't call them out. Imagine the kind of clout these guys have in BCCI. One negative comment about them and their commentary contract will get terminated. raki05

zen
Dhoni has retired, therefore w/o much practice but still competitive enough in general ... brings value through his keeping and leadership so with CSK batting deep, Dhoni's batting form is least of CSK's worries at the moment, it is more about where to bat him ... maybe if wkts fall early, send him up to build a p'ship; if not, send others before him Edited April 19, 2021 by zen

Also he is much more influential within BCCI than any other captain that CSK could find.

If CSK wins, I won’t be surprised if many folks would want him to come out of retirement and may be even lead Ind in the T20WC (to make it his “real” farewell tourney)

Either to consolidate when wickets fall or move below the big hitters. ShoonyaSifar
I swear I counted the number of times they showed him on camera, I gave up at 33, this was in the 4th over of RR innings. As if they have been specifically told to focus on Dhoni and Kohli
