IPL is the new BBL/BPL/SLPL/PSL - low quality T20 league

Enough of this crap. The IPL council has killed the whole charm of the tournament and after 13-14 matches, this season it's looking like an even cheaper version of low quality leagues.

Look at all these sub-standard pitches unfit for any form of cricket. Hasn't been as bad ever. Even BPL does a better job. What's the point in seeing teams huff and puff to 135-140. Having better contest between bat and ball doesn't mean making pitches with so much turn which keep getting slower and lower.

It's a season being played in unusual extraordinary circumstances. Things won't be all perfect, curators are unable to prepare good enough batting pitches in Chennai with these back to back games.

You ll see batting beauties in Mumbai, Bangalore & even Ahmedabad.

Let's credit BCCI for arranging IPL instead of unnecessary whining

Yes, in an ideal world there should not be any IPL happening but BCCI & players are making an effort to arrange & execute an IPL.

So people should stop whining & enjoy the entertainment

I wouldn't hold too much hope. Mumbai had two poor pitches as well where the ball was seaming and swinging with an uneven bounce. The pitches look underprepared which should never be happening in T20s.

I'll keep pointing out the deficiencies which can potentially damage IPL as a product. Can't help if you think it is whining.

Chennai has been a absolute shocker at first they prepare a dead pitch in 1st test with ankle height bounce & then a raging turner (albeit on TM request)  terrible venue overall.  Takes me back to 90's & now The IPl.

Should've gone for Hyderabad or heck Pune which successfully hosted ODIs in testing times.

Keep whining, people are watching IPL in these sad times & getting entertained. IPL is far superior a product to be damaged by your imaginary deficiencies.

Yeah 20 lakh watching vs 55-60 lakh last couple of years. Such alarming drop could be catastrophic for a product. But nah, let's keep our head buried in sand.

Anyways, enjoy your entertainment and let me whine. Not putting a gun on your head to respond.

pitch is fine. Chasing team is 50/0 in 6 overs when it’s supposed to be tougher to bat

Poor batting these days automatically means poor pitch exactly

the moment batsmen are required to show some application and can’t just hit out from ball 1 like hardik tried it’s called poor pitch

So far, the best match despite, the brainless batting by top order, was CSK-KKR.

And that was on a flat batting paradise.

The matches at Chennai , have been boring, despite being low scoring contested where even 130 would take 20 overs to chase.

This indicates batting pitches are more interesting than some 5th day pitch where it's a serious contest between bat and ball, and batsmen are struggling and surviving.

A contest like today where 220 could've been chased and entertaining innings by Russell and Cummins, is much better to watch than a match where all the batsmen strike at 110-120, huff and puff to get to 130-140 , and the teams batting second either choke while chasing or chase with great difficulty. It breeds room for mediocrity. The reasons teams are struggling is because of medicine performances by Indian batsmen as well as middle order inability to perform at Chennai.
