Ashwin could play a first-class match for Surrey before England Tests

Rahul bats at no 5 in ODIs so he has fair idea how to bat in middle order.  Vihari is more like no 3 player..  He won't contribute too much with Tail either.  At no 6 you need a player who has solid array of strokes to carry the Tail & explode.  England has Buttler there for same purpose.

We have Pant

 

batting in MO in ODIs is different from Tests.Vihari if he plays will slot in at 6 with Pant at 7.

Jadeja is in good batting form and a lefty. I trust him more than Rahul /vihari to get runs

Really Jaddu is terrible when it comes to batting with the tail..  MCG test & WTC final proved that.  He doesn't know how to farm the strike. 

Rahul may have had struggles but when it comes to stroke playing against Pace & spin he is very effective.  He can clear the ropes & improvise when needed.

India were dead unlucky last time as they lost all 5 tosses including that of oval. If they would have even won toss the scoreline would have read 3-2. I cant remember India losing a test match winning the toss ( day night adelaide was a day night test so its an outlier… though we were on drivers seat most of the match). I fervently hope india at least wins the oval toss this time as batting first is as good as winning..

But but our padosi will mock us for saying toss matters. 

 

How the * does toss not matter in English and kiwi conditions. 

 

Even with a liability in kuli, we would beat Kiwis if we had won the toss.

 

Conditions are not the same for both teams in these countries. 

 

First day when india batted in the final it was windy, swinging like crazy and ball was hard to negotiate. 

 

When Kiwis batted, it was much easier as the day was brighter. 

 

A lead of say 200 would have been enough. India were unlucky. Rain ruined a good test. Again.

 

Just like semis vs new zealand. Get rid of the pos and we should win comfortably.

Tbh I was very surprised to see Amar Virdi didn't get a game in India &,  mediocre Dom Bess was backed too much.  Virdi was very impressive...  In 2019 Notts vs Surrey game took 14 wickets in a game & Ashwin took 12.

I don't care what Ashwin does in Eng or in wimbledon. The first thing we need to do is test him (if he went with his family test them too) and quarantine him immediately on arrival. He did some PR work for corona awareness and he is watching wimby without a mask on. I think he did touch upon that. He removed only to talk. He went there for only for few seconds

He played for Surrey AFTER going to Wimbledon (which got over on 11th July). Must have gone through the tests and other protocols before joining up with Surrey teammates.Should be fine.
