India vs Srilanka - Pre match discussion thread

Well I will even blame the selectors....they could easily select different ODI and T20 teams instead of a combined squad.

 

That way Dhawan, Pandey, Yuzi , Kuldeep could be drafted in ODIs while others make up the T20s.

 

We could very well have this experimental team in T20s and still beat lankans. Batting till 8/9 and six bowling options with variety.

One thing for sure things are messed up right before T20 WC 

 

-We don't not know who are our openers as yet: Rohit, kohli, Rahul, Dhawan, Shaw are all in fray

-We don't know our middle order: Samson, Sky, Ishan, Iyer, Pandey are in the mix
-We don't know our keeper: Pant or Rahul - few months back Rahul was sureshot but now Pant is there too
-We don't know our allrounders in totality: Pandya brother or Jadeja or Axar or Shardul Or Washington ? Don't  know which which direction we will go??

-We don't know our white ball spinners: Kulcha or rahul chahr or Varun C ? Still undecided or unproven?

-We don't know which fast bowlers: Bumrah, Bhuvi, Shami, Deepak Chahr, Natrajan 

 

Its a total mess...3 months before the WC, we are still confused about our starting XI...

I have a feeling this WC is going to be an epic disaster!!!

tewatia/kl/thakur. They can also try Mayank, opening skills against pace can be handy at death too

Dhawan is the Captain, I dont think he would be under any Pressure to score runs at a brisk pace.

 

I think DHAWAN is bound to hit one century in the three ODI's and also score some runs in t20( though slow).

• SKY- for Mumbai he does a great job at 5-7 position in 50 overs. 
• Samad- needs to be send on A tours
• Kishen- can bat anywhere

infact Saini is more suited for T20 with his yorkers and all .His record proves that.

 

Doesnt have any new ball skills which is vital. Cant remember him doing well in ODIs before Aus tour too

Jeez that's a terrible line up.  You need one out n out fast bowler in Sri lanka.  Saini has to play in all 3 ODIs.  VVS is a below average analyst along with Chopra. 

Also there are too many right handers already.. Hasaranga on a roll will run through them.  Need one left hander like Kishan in there for variation.

That was VVS ,Deep Dasgupta would have picked Kishan, simple

VVS has no words of his own,he reads scripts written by someone else
