Glad to see Indian origin people take a stand for themselves and their communities to protect themselves for looting animals- even if it means arming themselves. I hope the SA Army manage to bring in some control otherwise there will be many deaths.

 

Also many anti indian tweets floating about on south African Twitter- threats to kill Indians and raping women were a couple I have seen.

Well obviously not-- the same propaganda was used by Idi Amin in Uganda to expel Indians because they were financially better off  due to their acumen and determination. Post expulsion the economy of Uganda collapsed because they did not have the right skills to sustain economic enterprise.

 

Indians wherever they are make a positive contribution to society in economic terms. A section of the population will always use Indians as a scapegoat to blame all problems on.

Yes? and? Using this logic sikh farmers are entitled to attack gujji businesses because they feel Ambani and Adani are corrupt... Im not saying Gupta brothers are not corrupt- if you have beef with them then target their property, why attack normal citizens who are traders and businessmen. This is an excuse to shift the blame on a particular group to further their political agenda.

 

Happens in EVERY African country- they cannot live in peace amongst themselves. Dont think there is one African country where there has not been a civil war between tribes to gain power.

Indians of South Africa are mostly descendants of indentured labor. They focused on education to lift themselves up out of poverty. The South African natives have been in power for well over 20 years now. It is their failure to do anything meaningful that has caused SA to turn into another Zimbabwe.

Ultimately, like BLM, such movements are between haves & have-nots. Despite having political support, they find themselves on poverty and thus, resort to anarchy and hitting out on other communities, businesses. It may be whites at first, but inevitably, Indians will also be on the line. It's happening in many parts of the world, and Indians better be alert.

 

In history, Indians there also started low under their white masters. Yet, instead of joining the freedom struggle with blacks, Indians struck to themselves, their hard work, and rose up eventually.  So there is bound to be some resentment against Indians there.

Any community that is peaceful and mind it's own business have to obey what Government is saying whether government is white or black , oppressive or egalitarian. I don't think Indians fought with blacks shoulder to shoulder for independence. So in other words they collided with whites indirectly
