Javelin throw technique is so similar to fast bowling ,tent peg ,front foot brace ,delay  arm .

It is more similar to throwing ball from the boundary to the wicket keeper...I was thinking about it in the morning.

Dahiya and Punia have raised hopes. Reminds me of when Sushil Kumar won silver. Do we have a chance with these 2 guys ?

Punia seeded 2 but Dahiya gave even more hope than Punia with his performance today

Unlike bowling they have to throw upwards , so arm has to be delayed hence can't be hip dominant.

How do you find their runups?true they have give it height but range as well

Hip dominance is irrelevant for this kind of  manouver

@G_B_ Double-digit medal count was possible if our shooters had done 25% of what was predicted by pundits (and even their rankings, WC success).

We can still do it

Wrestling 4 ( 2 today plus vinesh bajrang)

hockey 2

neeraj 1

total 7

already in pocket 3. Total 10.

BEST case scenario though. Realistically i am expecting 6

Run up can't be that quick for them as they can't have a nice follow through due to that foul line.If they are allowed a follow through after release like in cricket ,they might throw even longer.

Agreed, besides the runup constraint,it is the non compact ness of a javelin that makes sideon/knee dominance more feasible here in this manouver can't imagine throwing that thing being front on,even if they do it won't go too far

Satish gave a tougher fight to Jalolov than this GBR boxer, pity our man had to face the beast in QF and not SF.

After the Uzbek's performance today, all the more proud of Satish, maybe he will be Jalolov's toughest opponent this whole tournament :isalute:

Draw matters, at least we have repechage in wrestling.

Liked Jalolov a lot. He was his country's flag bearer and is a pro boxing world champ. Yet seems very humble by boxing standards.

Also, he was quite generous against Satish, no dirty punches or excessive agression.  Praised him too after the bout. That match could have been a lot more one sided.

Realistically it should have been jalolov n satish at least in semis. Satish is actually good. No hype more power.

Jalolov for gold.
