Bumrah lacks the killer instinct in his bowling to be a modern great.

Bumrah might end up with 0/70 type of figures but he is the guy whom opposition feels like they are  under threat every over.

There are 3 bowlers in the Indian side  who keep opposition on the toes every over : Bumrah, Ashwin and Siraj

There are 2 bowlers who the opposition know  they might have a bad spell and can cash in but any moment they will produce a spell where they will be unplayable: Ishant and Shami

There are 2 bowlers who if the opposition takes them lightly will knock them over but if they play too safely they will lose out on runs. They don’t have too many weapons but what they have is good enough to knock through sides: Umesh and Jadeja

There are 2 bowlers who look harmless but they will produce a wicket out of nowhere and constantly spinning the wheels on how to get the batsman while the batsman might fall for their trap taking it easy: Thakur and Axar

We have the perfect bowling attack :hatsoff:

I nominate this for the GOAT post award

And Shoaib Akhtar and Waqar Younis have better career strike rates than Mcgrath, and  but are not fit to tie the great Aussies shoe laces.

Unlike you and  @express bowling ,  people don't watch cricket on statsguru.

People give pathetic excuses on behalf Bumrah not bringing his A game when India needs him most just to hold their idiotic arguments.....

Some of which are he went wicketless in the WTC Final because " India was not prepared " .

How did the others take wickets then...

Akhtar & waqar have better strike rate than McGrath not there careers avg.but for bumrah case his avg & sr both are better than McGrath, Cummins, steyn, Donald & akram in 4th innings.this this is only for 4th innings not for overall career.you are the one who posting fake about bumrah .

Since 2015, we havent lost a SINGLE match where we scored 300 batting first. Whether at home or overseas. Just 300.

Since 2018 jan, we have lost just ONE match where we scored 300 batting second, even on pitches where batting first is huge advantage. The one match we lost is the chennai test thjs year where on a pancake england scored 578.

We lose because our batting cant even score 300. Imagine peak fab 4 with this bowling

Fab 4 with this indian bowling would annihilate sena teams in sena except n.z again. Only cause we lack swing bowlers.

That was the first test of england in india home series and if not for stupid luck of pujara s shot hitting short leg and popping up for a  catch we might have saved it too. Also the first 4 wickets were gifted playing shots like house was on fire. That was the last match Pujara looked a batsman..

There is much more than just 3 wickets of Bumrah  in this win.  He was in beast mode in each spell in 2nd innings bowling near 90 miles with sharp bounce & movement with a possibility of someone getting hurt.  He was The enforcer !

Every good team need one such bowler to excel.

We need to see how Anderson comes up after this test for the next 3 matches .

All the more important India plays another 400+ innings in next match playing near 150+ overs .

Should grind him to the ground.

Fab 4 with the right combo of bowlers would do well in NZ too and win there (e.g., Dravid would have been brilliant). We have had good swing bowlers, but it's just that they have either been injured, faded away, etc. Peak Bhuvi in NZ for instance would have been quite a sight.

Just bounce him until he falls to the ground. And watch Root and co whinge about it - more fun.

Actually you are right.

Shardul

Bhuvi

Ishant

Booms would be perfect.

We can win in .n.z too.

The " great  " " consistent"  Bumrah again stood out among the battery of pacers.

I judged him right.  He is consistently like this. Raw numbers seldom tell the full story.

How many bowlers have become great after 20 tests in modern cricket?

He has been around for a while.  No one becomes great in 20 tests.

But greats improve with experience . Has he improved ??
