Austin 3:!6 Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 Look we can all talk about playing late, playing in back foot etc. But the fact is likes of James Anderson & co is simply too good with red dukes in these conditions. Indian batsmen simply don't have the technique to play against bowling of such calibre in these conditions where ball swings constantly in both directions. This does not mean they have become bad batsmen overnight but they are just not good for these conditions. Come the next series...all will be fine. Same thing happened in 2018 as well where likes of Dhawan, Rahul, Pujara & co were all over the place in England. The very next series same Dhawan was smashing Pakistani phaast bowlers for fun in docile UAE pitches in Asia cup. So our players are not bad, they are all good but just not good enough in English conditions.

Whether Indian batsmen have technique or not doesn't matter. Problem is that they are worst in the world. Bangladeshi batsmen are better and WI batsmen are on par with Indian batsmen. And no they won't be doing well in next series. They struggled in home series. They collapsed on flat pitch of Chennai. They don't have to become world beater in such condition, even if they become middling batting unit, avg performers, this team would win more matches with best bowling line up. Banton and Vijy 2

Young players like Shai Hope Blackwood Brathwaite & co have done well in England winning odd test here n there. These experienced stalwarts like Pujara Kohli Rahane still haven't come to grips with the conditions. Even rookie Poyzz batsman come up with better techniques to tame English players. I think it's time we move away from Batsman who are too much front foot dependent.
Trichromatic Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 This is hardly English condition issue. Kohli averaged 28, Pujara 22 and Rahane 18 in home series. Pujara and Rahane managed just 1 fifty each in 6 innings. Same thing is being repeated in ongoing series also. Kohli averages 24, Pujara 32 and Rahane 19. Kohli, Pujara and Rahane managed just 1 fifty each in 6 innings. Which red dukes did they face in India? Cricspin and Vijy 1 1

Bro, BD batsmen couldnt cope with swing bowling of Stuart Binny. You think they would do any better against this Eng bowling in their conditions. We are playing poor cricket, agreed. But things are not this bad that we have to draw parallel with BD batsmen...lol. The day situation becomes this bad, I would no longer be a cricket fan.

Poyz batsmen have consistently outscored and done better than us in England and I'm talking some spuds who may barely make some third grade Ranji team like Shan masood. For whatever reason the ability to play lateral movement of any kind has gone down among indian batsmen as soon as they mastered playing pace and bounce. Along with perhaps the wrong approach this has compounded our issues the last 3 tours here. It doesn't help that even in batting friendly conditions we don't look like we will score more than 350 anywhere because some of our most established batsmen have forgotten how to build innings. Lord Posted August 30, 2021 Posted August 30, 2021 The journalist is being bashed summarily, might even lose his job. I wonder what would happen if someone were to ask 'You haven't scored a ton in 50 innings,do you think you deserve to be captain anymore?' Such hard hitting questions used to be normal before but now there is no chance Cricspin and Lone Wolf 2

This guy is averaging 28 in England which is a hopeless average. This is despite the fact he doesn't play T20, he has paid multiple to visits to England, he has played county cricket. Then logical solution is to leave out pujara when we tour England. Lone Wolf and Cricspin 1 1

Sugar daddy BCCI gives them everything & when there are question asked they have nothing to say.
