Winning a test series in Australia or winning the T20 WC ? What would have been your answer if this question was asked in December 2020.

Test series in Australia anyday over this t20 world cup. 

 

Same goes for 2-1 in England (yet to be finished) even if that is a draw I would take it over t20 world cup. 

 

Performances in test series in SENA countries is way more important to me, thankfully we have the GOAT Asian test captain to take care of that

But this Aus test win had nothing to do with the GOAT Asian test captain.

We have been woeful in LOI for a long time now. Uprooting trees when it doesn't matter and choking when it does.

Wonder why NZ is not having this mentality. Why are they still trying in this t20 WC even after winning the WTC itself!

T20 World cup for this scenario.

 

A world cup is a multi team tournament with lots of knockout pressure games. You have to actually be in your best against different teams in different conditions and win more than 75% of your games to win the cup.

Yes unlike soccer toss in cricket can make a huge difference. In soccer, all you have to do is choose a side you wish to start off from. There is no real impact due to conditions and the nature of the pitch.

Put it this way. This Aussie side is their second best side of all time after ponting/Waugh's side. 

 

Look at the calibre of bowlers. Imagine Pakistan's best ever side having to face this bowling attack of Australia in Australia. They will get obliterated that's the harsh truth. 

 

Pak can rack up wins in kiwi land but oh wait. Won't happen there either. Infact they won in Pakistan not too long ago.

Beating a full strength OZ in OZ is quite the achievement. No other team on world cricket can do that right now .

But then again the emotions attached with it are far lesser than a T20 WC for the casual lot.

 

You wouldn’t see casual cricket fans celebrating it, but a win in T20 WC would be celebrated by all alike. 
 

A world tournament is followed more closely too by all kinds of fans.

T20 WC over any win in SENA any day. 

 

Heck I'll happily trade both the SENA 2-1s this year for wins in the CT 2017 final and WTC final.

The joy of the Aus series win from a down and out position at 36AO to the thriller in Gabba is unmatched, winning a T20 WC does not come close. Not in a million years.

 

T20 is just so fickle.

How about 1992, you think Pak weren't lucky? Or even the CT17 when they barely qualified for it. More 92 WC (for luck) than CT17 if we're being pedantic.
