bones Posted November 12, 2021 Posted November 12, 2021 I kind of feel sorry for Hassan Ali, even though the result is what it is, it's better that a single guy doesn't let the team down and it's a collective failure. But in this instance the biggest culprit was him and he had a horror tournament overall. In fact he could recover and come back but I feel he doesn't have the mentality of a Misbah or Stokes, guys who can put shocking & painful moments behind them. Hassan Ali looked like a broken man after his spell of bowling, he looked completely soul-less after the dropped catch and is probably inconsolable now for a long time. His nightmares have only just begun. I think players can deal with the abuse and bashing, perhaps not when it gets personal but can they deal with knowing they let their team and so many people back home down? Perhaps if someone else dropped the catch it would be better for everyone.

Anyone remember Andrés Escobar from Colombia, who was shot dead after he accidentally scored an own goal in a world cup? Edited November 12, 2021 by New guy diga 1

It doesn't help if the captain keeps singling him and the dropped catch , out in the post-match ceremony and in the PC as well https://www.espncricinfo.com/video/aus-vs-pak-t20-world-cup-babar-azam-if-hasan-ali-hadnt-dropped-the-catch-the-scenario-would-have-b-1288890 Edited November 12, 2021 by coffee_rules

Do you seriously believe that one match defeat is emasculation . If yes then do you accept that india emasculated Pakistan 12 times and moreover your 1992 team that won world cup was emasculated. rangeelaraja and Norman 2

One of them has to lose and one of them has to win. But Pakistan winning means India would have committed suicide by now judging by fireworks in extension to Diwali. But Pakistan still has another chance in next year and I have faith that one of team being winner will be Pakistan this time judging by the trend, In Shaa ALLAAH. Lol. Like you guys did in 2007 and 2011? Pak getting knocked out in first round in 2022. No way their style works on those pitches. They were brutally manhandled in 2019. Systems work, Inshallah doesn't. I don't believe Indian players ever had to not return home after losing a match against Pakistan or Semi's / Finals . Pakistan has had to abandon travelling home I believe a few times in the past when they've lost a match against India... Even now they lost in a semi final of a T20 world cup - don't think T20 WC comes anywhere close to ODI WC or a WTC at this point- but the amount of crying / wrist slitting in Pakistan is quite over the top for a Semi Final loss...
