If Rahane plays at #4, I'd go with Surya at 5 as he can score quickly. If rahane plays at usual 5, then Iyer can come at #4.

Rahane now has similar challenge as he had in Australia. A very young team except the bowling attack. Now Saha will get picked for his experience.

All the talk about Ashwin, Axar and co bundling out NZ means GHANTA if we don't score enough runs.

 

We should thrash NZ mostly but I get the feeling we are playing with fire underestimating the opponent.

Pretty much they are the only ones scoring runs apart from Pujara (who ironically has been flopping in India for years now).

this team can beat any teams bar England hands down. Batting till 10. Umesh bats well in india. If india manages 300 axar ashwin jadeja enough and if there is reverse swing umesh n siraj can take out plenty..

I have no doubts about the capability of this young team. We will beat everyone including England even on our normal wickets. One huge risk will if they pick Ishant again.

Surprised with SKY's selection. There is Ruturaj Gaikwad and several others who probably deserved a call before him.

Lack of quality middle order players in India currently.  Vihari is with India A.  Karun Nair is nowhere to be seen.

Surya & Iyer are only two options left.  I will take Iyer over him though.  His FC career is solid.
