It 100% did not warrant that slap. I mean when Seth MacFarlane the Oscars hosted he wrote and sang an entire song titled “we saw your boobs” making fun of multiple actresses’s topless scenes in movies. He's lucky it wasn't Gervais.Have heard a lot that's worse and people laugh it off.Not only did Smith tarnish his own reputation,he spoiled the evening for the other winners as well. In the same award show there was a mild dig at Will Smith's personal life. It happened in BAFTA too. This one it was about her medical condition. Even that could have been laughed off. But not everyone is the same. He saw his wife being upset. So he thought it was a great idea to go and slap someone he knows for 30 years on the stage. It was uncalled for. But it is not the same.
