Lol people acting as if that was the most offensive joke ever told in the history of the Oscars. It 100% did not warrant that slap. I mean when Seth MacFarlane the Oscars  hosted he wrote and sang an entire song titled “we saw your boobs” making fun of multiple actresses’s topless scenes in movies. I mean where was all this outrage then?? Why didn’t any of the actresses’s husbands slap him??

It is not about white or black. You think Denzel washington would have reacted the same.  or even Chris Rock would have reacted the same if Will had made a joke about him. It is just will smith losing his temper.

No they would not have. But lets say if Tom Cruise had done, this we would have two more book launches on white privilege in Hollywood.

Bald men are made fun of all the time.
So much for feminism and equal rights.

Not the same. This is personal. This is one guy  reaching his breaking point having been the target of a lot of comedians especially about their open lifestyle. Reaction is worse than joke. But the situation is unique. Cannot compared with any random situation.

How is it unique?
He's lucky it wasn't Gervais.

Have heard a lot that's worse and people laugh it off.Not only did Smith tarnish his own reputation,he spoiled the evening for the other winners as well.

Gervais had to take heat from Tom Hanks just you know for insulting Tim Allen's career.  It is no different. All people have ego. Black or White.  In the same award show there was a mild dig at Will Smith's personal life. It happened in BAFTA too. This one it was about her medical condition. Even that could have been laughed off. But not everyone is the same. He saw his wife being upset. So he thought it was a great idea to go and slap someone he knows for 30 years on the stage. It was uncalled for. But it is not the same.

It's laughable...he has apologized on his own...If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen

Yes. He should have restrained himself having been in the show business for 30 plus years.  King Richard has voiced his opinion through his son that he should have been escorted out.  This is a program that is watched by millions around the world.  Engaging in violence, using F word with many kids watching was simply condemnable.  Predictably desi crowd especially women cheer him for "standing up" for his wife lol.

These Hollywood people are dum dums. Them giving standing ovation to Will Smith's acceptance speech makes me think it was scripted or they thought it was scripted. Or they have no idea how to react in social situations & follow the big wigs at all times.  No wonder Weinstein was able to get away with SA for decades

nice try hellywood :winky: not gonna pass the bs test. hellywood is in the gutter right now and rightly so for its immoral activities and agenda. Ricky Gervais said that much even though he is part of the club. I haven't watched this latest stunt and I'm not even going to entertain watching it. Its a stunt that's all there is to it :noidea:
