maniac
498 runs in a odi WTF. Watching some highlights. Out if the world hitting. This has become the team to watch even when playing minnows. I heard wi in the 70’s-80’s used to be like that when people will just tune into enjoy them destroying teams. they keep producing these power hitters and what’s scary is most of them are locals unlike imported cricketers they used to play in the past especially in LOIs. Phil Salt is a new addition to the list. Vk1 1 Link to comment
zen
England did not become a power hitting country overnight ... A plan has been in play since 2015 There have been days when Eng batting failed but the players were backed by both the officials & fans Vijy, Suhaan, Roydeep and 3 others 6 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
You would need Peak Yuvi, Sehwag, Rohit to match these guys. Thess guys are so effortless with their hitting. Hardly any muscle movement. raki05 1 Link to comment

Roy's one major weakness was spin- well not anymore 2. Livingstone s/r falls against just one kind of bowling SLA , but he is playing PSL, IPL and Abu dhabi t10.....................i wont be surprised if this pratice will make him improve drastically against SLA tweaker 1 Link to comment

Morgan was very (and still is) strict on selfish players and those that pursue milestones. I forgot who it was he got really angry at who didn't run a suicidal single on the last ball to protect their average Link to comment

Gollum
Maa kasam Buttler hamesha poyzzz ki kahke leta hai. Once out of nowhere he and Woakes won them a test match that too a 4th innings chase after being reduced to a hopeless situation, he hadn't scored anything for many matches coming into that series. I was certain they would find a way to lose but Buttler and Woakes were so clutch in that innings, that too day 5 pitch IIRC. Even in the big matches they lost to poyzzz, Buttler did so much damage, like the 2019 WC group game where he smashed a 60 ball 100. Like Darth Vader's controlled rage, love watching him bat, especially against padosis. Edited June 18, 2022 by Gollum raki05 and Vijy 2 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Did you guys see that Lees guy in Tests? Man that guy is another beast. Some of his offside shots were blistering shots making a crunching sound. Timing & power combo is incredible. Link to comment

He is a decent test opener, although untested against spin Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
This is why it is extremely important for us to select World Cup venues for 2023. Slower decks and boundaries being pushed back with large dimensions for grounds. Also use whatever is required to nullify dew at night etc. Their power hitting has to be completely neutered. SeasonedIPLer
Harry Brook another power hitter so is Joe Clarke and Will Smeed few others which I’ll post later Link to comment

Vk1
They have already revolutionized LOI batting.. most teams have not even realized it.. ofcourse we won't follow it saying that its not our style and continue to stat pad in bilaterals raki05 and Gollum 1 1 Link to comment

If India does not have power hitters, it still has hit 4s and also run hard to minimize dots (a team has to make competitive runs). The issue for India can be playing dots (to not get out) and not leveraging enough on loose balls, a lose-lose situation, and where batsmen look (esp. the top #1-3) to play to get to a decent individual score 1st before playing for the team.
