sage Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 The captain wants his batters to be a lot more aggressive and he's taken the first step towards that himself https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/how-rohit-sharma-is-leading-an-indian-revolution-in-t20-cricket-1328333 nevada 1
zen Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 (edited) Catching up (or forced to change ways or indirectly admitting that past approach by the top 3 was outdated) = revolution? PS CSK, KKR, & PK already are batting positively … It is mostly these stats focused usual suspects that were batting for their 20-30 runs first before playing for the team Edited August 9, 2022 by zen tweaker and express bowling 2

vvvslaxman Posted August 9, 2022 Posted August 9, 2022 Something Kohli should have done long back. Predictability works in Tests. Not in LOIs. Kohli was always uber predictable with almost everything. 10 years of RCB captaincy should tell you that. His team always looked like depending on top order. Rohit's first goal was to change that predictability. Recent shuffling of batting order confirms that. Stan AF 1
zen Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 (edited) If KL were not injured and Kohli not on vacation, Ind would have had the same top 3. Good to see that when these guys were not available esp. versus SA and Ireland that Ind got to see some relatively fresh cricket including exciting talent such as Umran being played (esp. against Ireland). Need4Speed Posted August 10, 2022 Posted August 10, 2022 The message is clear to the team! Lets see if Kohli follows it too. Stan AF 1

In terms of six hitting he is still unparalleled. Especially against pacers. KL Rahul when he was expressive could come close to Rohit. If that guy adopts this new approach it will be a tremendous boost for India. Kohli even at his peak was more into accumulating before a final flourish. He was able to play that game back then because he could preserve his wicket until that flourish. Nowadays he doesn't even get to that point. SKY has shown sparks. Let us see if he sustains.
