"Imagine how many countries have players like KL who can open the batting and can bat at No. 6 as well?So I feel if need be, he can do the job for us, especially if Rohit is not available for the first Test match."

What job? Getting out in single digits? Even Bumrah can do that. So let him open?

How many people  have a batting average in the low 30s after playing 50+tests yet manage to be seen as one of the core batsmen in tough overseas series ?

So they haved decided not to experiment. My fear is Kela might score a 50 and cement his place for next 10 matches.

first test is 11 days away... lot can change by then

Gambhir is either being delusional, or he has been forced by the BCCI to tone down when speaking about players.
KL is a mediocre batter, and he will remain the same.

When did Dravid succeed in T20s?

This guy is a fraud calling Dravid and Williamson as his role models for T20 cricket when in fact he aspired to become the next Kohli.

Williamson still had a few decent innings. His 2021 WT20 final innings against Aus was quite decent. It's just they were up against the conditions at Dewbai while batting first. But overall he wasn't a good T20 player and I'm surprised anyone would pick him as the role model for T20s. But Dravid doesn't have anything to show for in T20s and his performances in IPL when he played in a couple of seasons with RCB were laughable. He assembled a Test XI with likes of Wasim Jaffer alongside him.
