Rightarmfast Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Wait, India has fast bowlers? Arent Indians supposed to be vegetarians and hence cant bowl fast? Ok, chill.. thats not me, thats Rahul Dravid thinking in his own mind.

These won't be meaningless bilaterals which are basically to generate the C notes for the boards. Imagine him bowling 4 overs on the trot versus Warner or Rizwan or whoever opens for SL.... or even likes of Guptill. Anyway it won't take long - Oct nearly here and we will know what he is capable of. you can see all my old posts- I am a PAKKA BHUVI Hater- eternal Bhuvi hater. But I have Myself Opened the batting for my Corpoorate and 2 Mumbai Clubs and I have played on each and every main Cricket Ground in Mumbai except Wankhede and one in Vashi. I have personally played on Pitches in Mumbai , in cross and azaad Maidan - i have played on each PITCH including the karnatak fast green Pitch. Brother- NEW Ball is like an ATOM bomb for first 12 to 18 balls. if it is a Rough Patta wicket then new ball looses its GLOSS in 12 balls where as if it is a greenish wickets new ball may retain its GLOSS for 18 to 24 balls. This gloss is responsible for a slip, once a glossy ball hits a green patch, it skids super fast. Bhuvi is going to bowl 12 balls out of 3 overs ( 18 balls) at start. He has learnt a inswinging skill recently which makes the ball dart inside and kind of moves 20 to 30 degrees inside. when an opener knows that the bowler is going to bowl inswing/indipper ( all openers will know that bhuvi will inswing), batsman will be careful and monitor the swing but he is not sure some balls will swing by 10 degrees and some by 20 and some by 30 degrees. I am assuming that the pitch will be greenish and BHuvi would be in full form bowling at 133 to 140K. His varying swing @133K+ can get him 3 to 4 wickets in his first 2 overs itself. this is what he did against afghanisthan and got a fifer......demolished afghanisthan single handedly and closed the match in his first 2 overs itself. had India scored 150 runs only, still bhuvi would have demolished them. , only then bhuvi's swing is extra ordinary now that's why I call him King of SWING. he does not swing 3 to 5 degrees, some times he swing a mile..20 to 30 degrees. I may be extrapolating. in that match where deepak chahar also played and he also swung the ball. but bhuvi got 5 and kind of outclassed deepak chahar , bhuvi's swing was way too much. he was in real hot form. if he gets in that form , he will get 2 to 3 wickets in his first 2 over itself. Openers can handle swing but some times if they miss touching the ball , they can be found LBW. Bhuvi and Boom have to fire on all cylinders and arshdeep and hardik have to be at their best , only then India can win. ASHWIN is a wrong selection in AUSTRALIA - SHAMMI Or Khaleel should have been selected. axar is jadeja's replacement but he wont be played in the 11 because of the conditions. He is also a wrong selection. i would have picked Bishnoi ahead of YUZI Chahal as hitting bishnoi is a tougher thing to do.

You mentioned extrapolating later in your remarks - I would not extrapolate from Afghanistan to Aus/Pak/SL and even NZ/Eng/SA. Someone said it right - Afg is a team of number 8 batsmen. Sometimes they click but many a times they collapse. Against Aus/Pak/SL etc Bhuvaneshwar is much more likely to lay an egg... than take a fifer or do anything meaningful. We saw his 19th over in both Pak/SL game. At the beginning most opening batsmen start cautiously for 2 or 3 overs - unlike a Warner or a Sehwag or a Srikkanth or even an old Roy Fredericks. Bhuvaneshwar gets through his first 2 overs but if need be he can be dispatched in the first overs too. Oct is almost here and we will see which of us is right. Frustrated and express bowling 2

BHuvi- the swing king gets his swing only with the new ball, I have already mentioned , he should bowl all his 4 overs at start and arshdeep should bowl all his 4 over at the end. boom should bowl 2 at start and 2 at end. hardik should bowl in the middle. when the ball is new and is swinging , it is tough for any batsman to hit a six when the ball deviates from its original path. i said GLOSS offers a lot of skid too and so batsman tend to control that extra slip...shammi gets that a lot with the new ball but his swing is a little less than bhuvi. But he is lethal too with the new ball if the pitch is green india should play 5 pacers includng hardik....arshdeep, shammi may replace harshal or ashwin in the 15, boom and bhuvi. we can play with just hooda playing as a spinner and batsman. i trust that indian selectors will not take 3 spinners in chahal, axar, ashwin ...2 are enough, they can drop ashwin and pick Shammi or siraj or khaleel ahead of ashwin. before 10th october they can change the team.
vvvslaxman Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Contrary to popular theory of ball not swinging in Australia, it does swing. White ball does swing. May not be as much as Pink ball. But it does swing. Guys like Praveen had their moments due to this. We shouldn't confuse between red kookaburra and white kookaburra under lights. The reason is Kookaburar add another layer over the lacquer to keep its whiteness stay longer. This contributes to more swing upfront with white ball compared to red ball. But it doesn't last long. As per observation white ball stops swinging much faster than red ball. These are all theories echoed by players, experts. Chakdephatte 1
AKane Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Well we will see how much the ball swings versus bounces at the MCG vs Pak and especially at Perth vs SA. Also let us see how Bhuvaneshwar does..... Also Bumrah vs Pak. So far Bumrah has bottled it vs Pak. Time for him to step up. Mosher and express bowling 2
ravishingravi Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I must be honest. The prospect of three quicks from Pakistan with Shaheen included is super exciting. It's probably fastest quartet put together in a long long time. Naseem, Hasnain, Shaheen and Rauf. And add one spinner. That's a great combo. raki05 1

Stronger ATTACK then Indian attack.

Biscuit league for fodder nations. Minnows. Bowling phaasst for 4 overs is nothing special. But our test attack is light years compared to their attack.not even their best attack of all time matches our test attack. Edited September 18, 2022 by Jay

The swing especially outswing can be such a potent weapon. Naeem shah does take the ball away. ONly thing is he is not that tall.

Ihsanullah looks like the real deal. It would be a pleasure to watch him bowl in SA or Australia. I hope the PCB looks after him.

Gollum Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) Not that express pace is be-all and end-all....but that stat is highly embarrassing. Faaking SL ahead, BD almost at par, Pak way way higher, gives me such 90s vibes , at least in 90s we had Srinath. Edited September 18, 2022 by Gollum express bowling and raki05 1 1
