Indian squad for Wt20 announced.

I maybe in minority batting would be fine as long Rohit and Virat do well. Based on what I saw in IPL and all the new batting talent who have been given chances in various matches. There are no batsman who we can say has missed out.

 

Bowling is where there are lot of issues.

Biggest problem aside from lack of good bowling options:

 

Fielding: Ashwin, Arsheep, Bumrah, Chahal, Bhuvi are all bad fielders, how do you hide these many in the field? 

Batting: Arshdeep, Bumrah, Chahl, Bhavi we are screwed with this tail. 

 

in T2OI you can't achieve anything without good fielding or batting depth. We now need the TO + MO to do all the work & bowling to be good enough that it makes fielding irrelevant. Since we know none of this will happen consistently enough, we are going nowhere in the WC.

Batting depth cannot be solved by selectors.Where are the bowlers who can bat. Fielding as your rightly pointed out is very very important.India has too many weak fielders.

Deepak Chahar & Shardul, Bishnoi is better bat than Chahal. Team should have backed these players & concentrated on their development.

I think so. I at least hope so, it would just be unreasonable to have someone fly in the middle of tournament & get acclimatized.

This team will most likely play but for any chance to win we should replace chahal with ashwin or bhuvi with Deepak Chahar....we really need batting depth. And I think DK will play in place of pant.

+1. Backed the wrong players. T20 is a format where other than last over yorkers .every one is going to get smashed...back multi faceted players who can't bat a bit field well and bowl ok..we have such players shardul Deepak c Washington v iyer hooda etc.

 

Back some lefties and give chances.

The injury of Deepak really set us back here, the team can't go in with both Deepak & Shardul, none of them are death bowlers. If Deepak hadn't gotten injured when he did he could have played more games before the Asia cup, could have even made it ahead of Avesh & eventually to the squad. 

 

An attack with in form Deepak, Bhishnoi, Bumrah  (these 3 could have bowled the first 6) Arshdeep/Harshal, Bumrah (death overs) looks a lot better in terms of batting depth than the current mess we have.

Please note that given the poor fitness base and lack physical training and conditioning by most Indian players, I expect the backups to actually play in the WC. Injuries is going to happen Down Under.

What is worse is that TM failed to give the backups experience in tournaments like the Asia Cup instead of resting and retiring certain players.

Why was Umran bowling at 145 kmph? Why wasn't he backed like run leaker Avesh who played as recently as Asia Cup? There is lots more going on in the TM meetings and the crooked minds of TM than we know. He deserved more chances. Even Prasidh was tonked in every game and still got more chances!! Look what they have done with Bishnoi now.

Axar plays as a floater.  Batting upto number 9...so go hard 

No leggie and no leftie...but this is best we can do.

 

Option is to get one of bhuvi or chahal in and get pant in place of another batsman or pant and hooda in place of axar and dk.

aise to bhuvi, bumrah, arshdeep, ashwin, hardik, all cover PP whats the need of shami.

Shami in 1st place has been terrible in t20, even his PP numbers are nothing good...............in death he is horrible
