unfortunately reserve day is only for knockouts.

This is good to hear tbh...  Reserve day thing could have been tricky or unfair on either team just like 2019 WC SF

Stupid ICC should shift this game to Perth. The forecast isn't good at all and it's not going to change.

What about the tickets sold at the MCG?

They cannot have a slow start

Think the tactic should change slightly against Pak.  They can and should have a slower start.

Shaheen is very good first couple of overs and then is usually hittable.  We'd have to be careful first couple of overs and then go downtown.

Entire PP is considered to be the first act of the game. There may be a few good overs bowled by the other team but Ind should be looking for around 60 if aiming for a 170-190 total. Pak has good bowlers (Shadab & co) in the middle overs as well. While over reliance on death can be a lottery.

If conditions are 150-170, the team would adjust accordingly.

@BlueBlood @zen I do get we should have fast starts but being 0/2 is not ideal either in a pressure game, I'd rather we don't lose our top 3 within the first couple of overs than go all gung ho & get a pasting like last time.

0/2 has more to do with the inability to play good to great balls. The guys get LBW, bowled, or caught behind many times.

These 1-3 guys have hardly attacked and are only talking about playing “aggressively” in the last few months.

If it rains, the biggest winners will be Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Kohli, Harshal Patel.

I am sure there must be enormous pressure on these 4 players in this game. If Rohit loses this game and this tourney I highly doubt he will make it to the next WC unscathed.

Especially in the Pak game if Top 3 fail miserably, I think even the ardent supporters on this forum will be super angry.

To make matters worse the very next game against SA is also a tough one and Top 3 will be tested there too.

I would love to see how top 3 bat against Shaheen, Naseem Shah and Rauf in the first 6 overs. We all know that is the match right there and the margin for success for top 3 is so tight.

- They cannot have a slow start
- They must attack and take risks against quality bowling

- They must score runs under immense pressure.

Anything less and it's a failure. That's something Babar and Rizvan don't have to fear or worry about.

Last time India scored 54/0 in the first 5 overs. Naseem Shah was smashed for 3 sixes. Rauf was hit for a six.  I understand if you are talking about a left arm seamer who have wood over these guys.

If it is a washout, SA would need to beat one of these two to get through assuming it does well in other games too.
