van Dussen missing out another big blow, IMO the world's best batsman against hard length presently. 

 

Full strength RSA in Perth would have been impossible to stop, this team of theirs is beatable.

In form midget Bavuma in a 125-130 S/R player on a great day.  For India's sake that would be awesome to have him bat for 5-6 overs. 

Russouw & Miller both lefties are threats for us.

Everyone on here wants Thakur in the team, but instead India has to play Harshal Trundler Patel, as Thakur is not even in the squad. How did this stupid decision happen in the first place. Its as stupid as Shami not even being in the squad a month ago.

What I love best about the batting is that aside from DK, all these guys have got runs in Australia. Thakur.Ash/Shami have enough ability to chase a few runs if required. Thakur and Shami can also hit big for a few deliveries if required.

 

6 bowlers needed. Lets not forget our bowlers have the potential to not only leak but flood. It offers Hitman some choices to protect him in case some bowler goes big.

 

I would bring in Pant for KL and have him open with Hitman and  I would keep DK in the middle order he at least provides optimism that we can chase a total down or set a total up .

 

A R/L opening batting and places pressure on the bowler to maintain line and length. Not to mention both these guys love to go aerial. Pant has runs all over f**king Australia. Play the guy you f**king morons.

 

KL is the quintessential example of a walking wicket. Absolutely places direct pressure on Hitman and Kohli as well by absolutely murdering the RR. We also have Hitman and Kohli that can be anchors. We dont need anymore anchors.

 

Lord is crafty bowler and can hold a bat, he is no Pandya with the bat but he is the best we have in Australia. Has done well in Australia.

 

I would pick the best spinner of Ashwin,Axar and Chahal. Generally speaking none of these guys will win us a game with the bat, Ashwin has done well so far so I would stick with him. Which is ironic as thats what Ashwin did and did well vs Pakistan. Those two balls he played showed more intent than KL has done in two innings in this WC.

 

@express bowling can you let me know your thoughts on my best team that could play for India. (assuming Thakur replaces someone with injury of course).

Most valuable player of our team is Hardik Pandya and the only other Pace All rounder who comes close to Hardik is Shardul Thakur.

 

i had predicted that he will be picked in T20 world cup team but till now he is not in the team...though he came as back up- i still feel he will some how get into the team  sooner than later.

 

Siraj is our premier pacer - Probably the first name after bumrah in most formats though he did not deliver so well in t20 but at present he is at his best. it was a no brainer to pick him ahead of Harshal- i agree harshal did better than siraj in IPL but if you ask these guys bowling one after then other, one can make out which bowler is going to succeed in Australia. he has great bounce pace and a bit of swing too. he hits the deck and also some times also gets some swing too. at least he should have been picked as a bounce bowler at least.

Given whats available that team is strongest we have clearly.  No one could change my mind otherwise. (unless its a turner)

 

Importantly no one is scared or intimidated either as a batsman (like KL) or bowler. (maybe Arshdeep due to being so young but you can accept that)

 

We differ slightly on where Pant is best suited but really 1,2,3 is much the same.

 

1,2,3 can not only lay a platform but go big. Thats important, Hitman and Pant are not tuk tuk.

 

4,5,6 are the big hittters that come in around the 15th+ over onwwards.

 

7,8 best for facing less than an over.

 

6 bowlers gives Hitman a choice to get 20 overs out of economically, plus we have genuine wicket takers if they get their line right in especially Shami and Arshdeep.

When has India NOT had an injury to a player.

if i was rohit i would have played 4 pacers + Hardik and no SPINNERS ..play Hooda as a spinner. only way India can fight is strenthen their pace attack and bolster their batting.

Also bowler friendly conditions make Indian bowling look better as it gives them teeth..which increases our chances against oppositions
