BCCI Fires the Selectors… Breaking News!

It will do nothing. There is no championship DNA in the Indian cricket culture. You need that little extra in your prep, in fitness, in mental stamina, in ability to pivot quickly, in ability to play the best team instead of superstar tag holders.

Next set of selectors will come through and fail.

Selectors are just guinea pigs.

  • Should have played a minimum of
  1. a) 7 Test matches; OR
  2. b) 30 First Class matches; OR
  3. c) 10 ODI and 20 First Class matches.

Jayadev unadkat qualifies

Should have been

A) 25-30 tests

B)150 first class matches

C) 50 odis and 100 first class matches

D)75 -100 t20's and 75-50 first class matches

Also there should be an age criteria as well

Atleast one selector should be lo specialist

What even are the perks of being a selector currently? What is their remuneration?

Scapegoated!!!

As if they had any real power in the first place.

This. In any case they were responsible too. But definitely this is an attempt to save Dravid Rohit who most likely had all the authority to demand players they want.

A small step in the right direction.  The thing it may achieve is improve our A teams, provided the new guys are better.

These selectors selected test regular Shardul Thakur for India A Unofficial Tests when Prasidh got injured. And this blocked the development of a young uncapped pacer. And selected Mukesh Kumar in the ODI squad based on FC stats. They were this bad.

But this is just a step to appease the angry public by showing token accountability without removing the real " culprits ", that is the Coach, the Captain and the non performing senior players in big matches. If these guys are removed then we will know that there is real accountability.

Just one post made you lose your temper. And that when we were almost on same page if you read it properly.

I will say it again, Amit Shah is not stupid to think BCCI position can give his son any public support. Maybe his son himself wanted to take this route, which is going to fail sooner or later.

You are too myopic. Theres a bigger game at play here. Jay shah's inclusion has been strategic. Now, the political party will have all the balance sheets and will take the lions share from the money without being questioned. Ofcourse all this will happen behind the scenes.
