They are not.  We are.  For assuming that India-A is a pipeline/training ground/vetting venue for future India teams.  As it stands, it is more like a lifetime achievement award for players who are unlikely to ever make it into the India team, plus a few new talents (e.g., Jaiswal) sprinkled in.

What is the point of 30 year olds playing in A tours? We are regressing in cricket badly  I don't see any of our young players debuting before 28/29 however talented they are Or how much runs they make in domestics or A tours .. Depressing times ahead..

Jayant is yogendra yadavs nephew, that is the only reason plus Haryana quota could be it, Anirudh Choudhury still has influence.

This complain about no young guns in A matches are concerning.  Hope the system is not trying to protect rohit Dhawan acts by intentionally delaying  the opportunities to young cricketers.

@SRT100 since you were confused. They will play in the 2nd unofficial test and continue on when the rest of the squad joins them for the Test series

Sheth bats a bit too so it is fair to give him a try out as an all rounder option. 

 

Kartikeya could have made the squad though he is another SLA, has good variety

One SLA who fits both these criteria's is Abhishek Sharma, I would have liked to see him in this tour as well.

There was a time when people would differ on marginal selection calls but it was by and large expected and accepted. But now - across teams and formats - they go out of their way to fark it up wholesale.

 

I dont know if its unpatriotic or not, but I would genuinely support and follow a genuine India A team featuring promising talent over has been uncles that are not only unfit for playing cricket but well past their expiry date.

 

If the BCCI ever allowed India to field two teams, I would follow only the second team if it was full of talented young Indian kids.

 

Knowing my luck the second team will feature even more uncles, they may even bring Dhoni out of retirement.

Easwaran has been playing for India A for quite sometime, when will he get his chance , already 27! Though he would be drafted in for the SAF tour but no we played the trimurti instead.

He was there for England test.

There are no Social Media fans for him, he doesn't play IPL and selectors hardly look apart from these 2 criteria's.

Aree, theres another player from haryana, Chaitanya bishnoi, grandson of former cm Haryana bhajan lal, the guy averages 27 after 40 fc games, keeps getting picked, jaydev Shah made a career of 100 FC games with a average of 29. Sourav ganguly to made it through with his confections, Amol muzumdar in 1996 was the most consistent domestic batter.
