It has been well over a month since BCCI invited applications for the post of national selectors for its senior men’s cricket team but the ‘sacked’ panel continues to perform the duties. As per reports, the board is struggling to invite ‘top names’ and hence the last committee has been given another extension.

Apparently, a package of Rs 1.25 crore for the chairman’s role and Rs 1 crore for other members isn’t considered attractive enough anymore.

And it means that the chairman of the previous committee Chetan Sharma could retain his role or may return as a representative while his central zone colleague Harvinder Singh is also in the running.

Lots of ICFers would be willing to do the job for free.

i would be ready to do this JOB if i get the same salary as I am drawing now . But yes I would do a lot of running around and would provide explanations to the Public why the selected team has been chosen and Yes I will be biased towards selecting fast bowlers even on Indian Pitches.

any one running this job will be criticized so it makes sense to keep logical answers ready and that requires genuine cricketing knowledge ( which chetan and team definitely possess) and FAIRNESS - being Honest - not being Partial, selecting team with a long term view.

eg. playing unadkat ..he got 3 wickets in the test ( in 2 innings) , even umran would have got 3 wickets or more in bangladesh.

playing unadkat was not futuristic where as playing umran would be futuristic. so selectors took a wrong decisions for selecting unadkat for test.,

Unfortunately, most of the posting on social media is crap (not even worth its free status).

Massive difference between bowling 4 overs in a T20 match where batters are forced to attack vs bowling 40 overs in a test where batters can just chose to play you out.

Just look at the state of all the phast T20 soopartar pacers of Pakistan in tests. They are worst than the BD pace attack!

What makes you think that Umran, who barely has any red ball experience can outperform seasoned Ranji performers?

Not that I can ever think of an Indian selector having the guts to drop him no matter how bad he performs.

You will get Rohit, Kohli, Bhuvneshwar in every format.

Majority of fans don't have much idea about Kuldeep Sen, Harshit Rana or Kartik Tyagi. Their list moves to Shardul and Deepak Chahar after Bhuvi, Bumrah, Siraj.

For then Umran Malik leak runs while Harshal is an allrounder + death bowling specialist.

There are some cricket spaces on quora, you will laugh and at the same time feel sad about the average IQ of casual fans (who are in majority btw).

I don't feel "sad", rather I feel "mad" when I stumble across quora

I would do it if they pay me 2x per hour more with half the amount of time time I spend on work these days! Of course while picking a squad I have to consult the forum, so be ready for - What happens when :lollypop:
