Arshdeep is a sure shot in the pool. It's quite obvious.

Umran : 50-50 chance

Prasidh :  No

Sen : 100% No

Sureshot Yes:

Rohit, Kohli, Ishan, Pant,S Iyer, Jadeja, Chahal, Bumrah, Axar, Hooda (undeserving), Pandya, Shami, Arshdeep

50-50:

Kela, Suryakumar, Umran, Ashwin, Kuldeep yadav, Gaikwad, W Sundar, Gill, Thakur, Chahar, Samson, Siraj

SURESHOT No:

Prasidh, Kuldeep Sen, Bishnoi,

Wildcard Entries possible:

Jaydev Unadkat, Bhuvi, Mukesh Kumar, Mavi, Harshal Patel

How is Hooda a sureshot. Sundar should belong to the sureshot category and Hooda should be removed.

Agree with the rest. With Pant likely out of contention, Samson might be bumped up

How is Arshdeep sure shot? This is ODIs not T20s where he would be sure shot. In the NZ ODIs, Umran overshadowed Thakur and Arshdeep both.

In ODIs ( if that is what we are discussing):

Sureshot Yes(14):

Rohit, Kohli, Ishan(wkt), S Iyer, Hahul(wkt), Dandya, Jadeja, Chahal, Bumrah, Axar, Sundar, Shami, Siraj, SKY

50-50(11):

Pant( after his injury), Samson(will compete for third keeper), Gill, Shikhi Paaji, Thakur, D Chahar, Umran, Kuldeep Yadav, D Hooda, Prasidh, Arshdeep

SURESHOT No:

Kuldeep Sen, Bishnoi, Ashwin, Tripathi

This is what I expect team management have put up.

Agree with most of it.

But don't think Bumrah can be called too injury prone yet.

Mid 2016, late 2019 and mid 2022 ... these are the timelines of his 3 injuries.

Pretty normal for a quick in a 7 year long career.

In 2022, he was brought back too early from injury, to cover up a weak pace attack, which is why he is taking time to heal.

injury prone was one thing. and the other one is his wicket taking ability, which has been subpar in ODIs lately.

DK will be recalled to the ODI side, nothing can be more surer given the injury to Pant.

Will be interesting if a failure in 2023 ODI WC will lead to changes before the next T20 WC.

this is the XI that BCCI would love to play:

dhawan uncle

rohit fatman

brat kohli

kela

pandu

jaddu

DK (wk)

axar

harshal

shardul

deepak chahar/undercutter

they will claim this lineup bats till XI.

Who is doing the selection when there is no selection committee.

If they have already selected the team then what is the point of having a new-set of selectors.

It's not my preference list. It's a list based on observation of selections in recent times.

Hooda has strong backing. He has been in ODI squad too. Current management is obsessed with batting abilities of bowlers and bowling ability of batsmen. This is the reason why I wrote undeserving in front of his name. He is not international class batsman.

Arshdeep is not 50-50. He is a sureshot because again current management has shown tremendous faith in him post WC. He is already in ODI squad. All ex-players, commentators, analyst regard him high for now.

I also think Prasidh has fallen behind in the eyes of management. But this can be wrong.

Bowlers including bowling ARs:

Sundar

Kuldeep

Bishnoi

Chahal

Axar/S Kishore/Shahbaz/…

Pant if fit and firing can come in anytime!

Basically kapil paaji saying Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli don't share the responsibility or accountability to win the World Cup. It's on youngsters only.

He is telling right but he is telling it to TM and Selectors that don't pin down your hopes on kela, Kohli and Rohit and build a team who can win you a wc. It's so surprising that all cricket experts not on bcci payroll barring few have same thought process as ICF, not sure why BCCI clowns can't see that.

even if they see it, they ignore it.
