2011 WC's Stumpy was so cute...this time could have gone for Assam's one-horned rhino or a tiger....anything better than whatever the * they chose this time.

 

Children should connect with the mascots, it is for them, their memories. I still remember the mascots from 2000 Sydney Olympics, the duck-billed platypus was my favorite, converted me into an Olympics fan despite me not knowing anything about sports back then.

My mom doesn't follow or care about sports but she knows Appu the baby elephant from 1982 Asian Games.

They should have gone for an animal mascot. Even if badly designed atleast they will look endearing. There are so many iconic animals in India to choose from.
