What is India's best XI in the knockout matches now - considering form and pitches ?

Recommended Posts

Rohit

Gill

Virat

KL

Pandya (b)

Sky

Jaddu (b)

Ashwin (b)

Shami (b)

Bumrah (b)

Kuldeep (b)

Sky in place of Iyer and Ashwin in place of Siraj

Sky will deliver on flat pitches - he can change a game in 5 overs.

Ashwin is predictable and reliable - he won't release pressure with loose overs, he will keep it tight if he doesn't take wickets.

Hope we play him for the remaining games instead of Siraj now that we have qualified for semis

depends on the pitch. I don't know enough about them.

ideally, Prasidh should have been in 15, and come in for siraj. otherwise, team looks good. I would swap batting order of jaddu and SKY though

Thakur can be expensive.

Ashwin doesn't even have to be a main bowler. Just 4-5 tight overs.

SKY has to bat up especially above Jadeja. He can't play his natural game with tail. He has crazy talent and if he fires with no pressure, Ind will score a humongous score in the end. Today's 49 was brilliant.

FOR KO,

MUST have 5 proper bowlers -Bumrah, Shami, Kuldeep, Jaddu, Siraj/Ash ( based on pitch)

If fit , consider Hardik as a batsman at 4 (who will bowl if required) in place of Iyer. He can be as good as Iyer at present.

That means you still have 6 batters + Jaddu & 5 Proper bowlers and Pandya in case needed for few overs .

Between Ash/Shardul for the no 8.

Ashwin is a lock for me in the final...  Ahmedabad will take some turn.  Three pacers (incl Hardik)  are enough.

We saw vs Pak that pitch has definite something for spin.

In Semis at Wankhede it could be tricky

more in for balance. Pandu will be 5th bowler. Ashwin is better/safer than Thakur

yes Wankhede ground dimensions are risky proposition for spinners. Even mistimed ball will go for six
