@Texan

Just for your knowledge.

Anything to do with Mumbai Indians, Reliance and affiliates like Jio....etc even involving the most oblique relations like - Shubman Gill dating the daughter of a Mumbai Indians India legend, SRT   -- you will find your self up against extraordinary ( adversarial ) attorney  i.e. @Mariyam

She is the guardian for all things Mumbai Indians - even far off relations/connections.

Sachin making sure Damaad Ji not breaking his record of scoring more runs in a calendar year.

No business commenting on what he does with his provate life.

then why were there posts and posts on Rishab Pant on what happened to him in his accident due to what he chose to do in his private life?

Indian players have a responsibility to the team and the country in the MIDDLE of the WC to ensure they ae fully focused and not getting into situations that may lead so something unsavoury

There should not be any of that either. This is what about ism a cognitive fallacy. We are discussing the topic not Roshan pant.

both are seen as future superstars and next gen of Indian cricket so same thing tbh.

This may seem trivial as its just a party but the concept still stands

A party would involve some drinks and dancing.

An inaugural event is basically a photo shoot, a meet and a greet. Say your hi/hellos and fake laugh at Ambani's jokes to appear polite.

The latter should be permissible during a WC.

Not ideal but as long as there wasn't boozing and late night revelry , it's all good.

Why isn’t it ideal?

Isn’t it for the team management to decide what is and isn’t kosher? Obviously they were okay with him going for the event.

This is a month long tournament and to expect someone to be all ‘work and no play’ is unrealistic. People perform best when they are free or have the illusion of freedom. Gill is in his early 20s and would naturally want to socialise.

Whatever the management has decided has worked wonders so far. Let’s trust them and their thought process. I can’t understand why people (not you, but generally speaking) are making an issue out of this and feel the need to pontificate.

There's plenty of time for corporate events after the World Cup. Not sure why there's a need for that imo  in between World Cup matches.  I have no problem with players having a day off. Let players do whatever they want to on days they don't train/have practice sessions.

Like I said, it's not a big issue but ideally they shouldn't pack such events during an ICC tournament like this.

It is 45 day long tournament, young people like Gill should be allowed to have fun in way they want as long as they are hurting themselves or others. No driving if they have consumed alcohol.

Comparisions between Pant and Gill are wrong.Pant was driving on the road where his driving has an effect not only on himself but others too.

The temptation for someone like him must be a lot, he's young, successful and better looking than most Bollywood actors. I'm not sure what he's doing with Tendulkar's daughter.
