MumInd Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 winning mentality.... two IPL titles.... only indian to win orange cup in title winning season.... trained under the GOAT MSD.... already has t20 I century against mighty australia... he needs to get his opening spot.... none of this one down BS.... The Hound Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Played out of position today to accommodate hack Sharma. Laaloo, Frustrated and MumInd 2 1
Frustrated Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 (edited) At this stage, our opener Abhishek Sharma is a bigger concern. I hardly watch IPL. But from whatever I hv seen, I was 100% convinced that he is a hack. Even on a patta, if the new ball swings a tad, he is a walking wicket. To get an idea, anyone can watch the IPL 2024 Final highlights. Edited July 6, 2024 by Frustrated
Nikhil_cric Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 Playing pace in the channel is the biggest issue for Rutu. He can score off hard lengths and wide lines. And he's a good player of spin. But he struggles against deliveries at off or just outside off. Lone Wolf and Number 2

That does not mean he is already going to be an integral part of the team. All it means is - he deserved a chance. He has got it. Now it is up to him to improve, adapt and prove himself. Same thing with Rinku and Gaikwad and all youngsters. Gollum, Number, rollingstoned and 1 other 1 3

Is there someone who tracks this manually or do they use a computer vision program to run across all match videos to extract that information.
WC2011INDIA Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Are they trying to replace one sharma with another sharma at the top order? Lol. That project was a long and drawn one. Ultimately, the sharma succeeded because a lot was invested in him.
Adamant Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 (edited) Doesn't belong in international cricket, have always said that. Stick to IPL and licking thala's foot. TBH Not much batting talent in South India . Hope they keep on supplying quality spinners though. Edited July 7, 2024 by Adamant

We wasted Baba Indrajith...not cut for T20's or ODI's but definitely a solid Test batter. Hanuma Vihari too was used like a dirtbag while Ajinkya Mediocre Rahane was promoted and carried for years.

Dont think Tilak will come good, Washington Sundar is someone I think will come good in tests.

AFAIK, analysts at the ground only track the more subjective stuff - false shots, shot type - attacking or defensive etc.

Number Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Looked out of sorts against Muzarbani today. Scored nothing off his 8-9 balls. This is something I noticed about him. Looks way poor against pace. He is a Chepauk specialist may be. Gollum and Laaloo 2

But it seems he at the moment is a sitting duck. Number 1
MumInd Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 todya once again proves he is better than gill int his format... despite playing out of position... and TM doing everything to make gill succeed... Gaikwad's presence, solidarity and leadership and calmness.... allowed Sharma at other end to thrive... or else we could have been 100 all out again after gill felt chepaly.... then Rutu has gears to go through innings and take team to well above par score....

maniac Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 At best should be a bench player in Odis. Rahane lite minus the leadership skills and great fielding ability or ability against pace and swing.

maniac Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 No hate take: good bench player for T20 especially at home or minnow sides. not for other formats. “potential captain” is too much Lord and singhvivek141 1 1
