Why is Prasidh Krishna rated so highly?

Because he is a hit the deck bowler who can bowl in range of 145-150 kmph. How many such bowlers we do have ?

T20 is not his ideal format. Heavy dew and just 4 fielders outside with 2 set batters, most bowlers will struggle. He almost got both Maxwell and Wade in previous over.

All said, he should not play T20s.

In SA tests though, I will be tempted to play him ahead of Siraj who was a big let down there in last test series.

Tall, hit the deck quick.

Gets steep bounce

Can bowl at 90 mph.

Can move the ball.

Has low bowling averages in FC .. 17.6, ODIs .. 25.6 and List A .. 23.8

Looks dangerous on pitches with bounce.

Not everyone is a T20 bowler and neither is he. Averages 34.8 in the IPL and this tells the story about his efficiency in this format.

But the selectors and TM should not let his T20 failures affect their judgements regarding his bowling ability in the 2 longer formats.

looks shyte in every format on top of that cant field and bat

Does not demonstrate control on line and length. Pace have been also average after his initial few appearances. We can't select players based on their once in a blue moon performance, need to be consistent at international level. Otherwise there is no way he can be successful specially in Test matches. In addition have not seen any X factor ability to run through opposition line up- each of Shami, Bumrah and Siraj can do that.

That he is a liability in field and with bat makes it important that he needs to have specialised killer abilities with the ball, otherwise will be one of those condition specific players who will become a burden over a period of time.

We are too quick make someone hero or write off completely, one bad match and now he is not good enough. It was difficult conditions and there was dew, and more importantly he is playing in the wrong format.

Didn't they do the same with Siraj, made him start in T20s when the format is not his strength, same almost everyone had written him off.

Prasidh needs to play in the longer format, with time and experience he might become better T20 bowler, players do adapt and improve once they have had some experience and success.

Siraj in his initial years was adjudged in similar manner and tone by many, infact if not for those so many injuries to seniors in Aus 20/21 he got his due in his favourite suite in good conditions he demonstrated his worth in Gold

Prasidh is skillful, needs to be played in Odis and tests

His record in Odis is infact quite good,t20s don't give you a clear picture

One complaint I have for every Indian bowler is they lack brains, more so under pressure

They seriously lack decisions making skills, confidence is low as a result in big occasions

Seen even in senior bowlers

Atlast, unless and until you stop treating fast bowlers as fillers or labourers/3rd class and stop dishing out slow low ultra pathetic pitches including raging Turner's where even random spinners can take bucket full of wickets ,you won't improve in fast bowling no matter how many 140+ are coming through age group cricket

Mindset needs to change, spinners won't win you matches outside SC or anywhere outside India

Fast and tall. He will be trump card in SA Tests.

We need to identify bowlers for each format seperately than mixing.

6 feet 5 inches. agarkar has picked him for SA Tests.

we have seen him bowl some JAFFA's.

He is the only Indian Pacer who has bowled balls reaching up to chest height from just short of a good length- these balls are UNPLAYABLE..i have got out twice on such balls..two consecutive balls( first snick keeper missed it and the second one he took)

I regard SIRAJ very very HIGH..actually i was convinced that he is better than SHAMMI and was comparing him with Jasprit BUMRAH ( i mean some one who is UNPLAYABLE)

But Siraj Underperformed in the WORLD CUP

Shammi over performed in the World CUP and Surprised not just me but many others including ROHIT Sharma

BOOM did exactly what was expected out of him.

Prasidh is underperforming at present and hence some of us are getting disappointed But I am convinced about his weight in GOLD.

Avesh is meeting expectations

Umraan khan underperformed and selectors have dumped him

mukesh kumar is meeting expectations and Hence they are supporting him.

Kuldeep Sen got lil chance but He was not provided the support that he deserved.

arshdeep is getting a lot of support from selectors and he is HOT & COLD..some times Good Some times Bad.

Karthik tyagi, Mayank Yadav seem to be seriously fast and if they are trained well, they could represent India for 3 to 5 years ( career of genuine fast bowlers is short)

umesh Yadav seem to have gone down the hill

kaveraappa is 6 ft 4 " and gets bounce like Prasidh and if he gets his pace a bit improved , he will become deadly. Kaveraapa is Prasidh's alternate and i understand he is little slower ( which is what i dont like) but he is taking bucket full of wickets and he has BROKEN the selection DOOR and has got selected. Guys like Kaveraapa take so many wickets that NO SELECTOR can STOP them to play for the country. if in INDIA A V/s South africa A - he grabs fifers- no one will be able to stop him to replace Prasidh ( even agarkar wont be able to not pick him ).

where as genuine quick bowlers like Umraan/Mayank /Karthik in their focus on increasing PACE forget the value of taking wickets . any captain in the world ( including me) will prefer to play a bowler who takes wickets instead of taking some one who shows high on Speed only bcos team wins by taking wickets.in thei

i want to call out all genuine fast bowlers like Mayank Yadav, Umraan. karthik tyagi to see Kaveraapa's bowling video's , Shammi's bowling video's and then see what are these guys doing correctly and try to do that.

Shammi has fitness issue's today But if he raises his hands and tells that I am available - he will be picked. Same is about Kaveraapa ..he is winning Matches for his team just on his own- In my entire cricketing career as an opener , i was not out once in a 20 over match and got the team to win- every player hugged me and appreciated my performance for 15 days- my personal feeling was like " I am walking on CLOUD 9". the satisfaction a player gets after wining the match on his own performance is 10x better than dating a Babe.

Now many guys who are not genuine cricketers will understand the orgasm that a player gets after winning the match- think of it SHAMMI got that 4 times in the world cup and Siraj did not got it even once in  world cup, boom also got it atleast once. rohit ,shreyas and virat scored some big runs so they also got it atleast once in the world cup.

Krishna has to fix his grouping he bowls allover the place and has to be consistent with the pace need to bowl more balls in 140 + kmph bracket, else his short stuff kind of sits up for easy chest height manageable balls.

Not completely but should try to emulate Morne Morkel's approach. Needs to be hostile all the times no need to give a slack to the batter
