'Worst Asian team I have ever seen on Australian soil': Adam Gilchrist

Amid Pat Cummins-led Australia playing the third Test with Shan Masood-led Pakistan at Sydney, where Australia seems to dominate the guests, former cricket legend Adam Gilchrist called Pakistan the worst Asian team on Australian soil.

 

As the Pakistan batting order collapsed like a pack of cards in the second innings, it disappointed Gilchrist, who from the commentary box said Pakistan was the worst Asian Team he had ever seen on Australian soil.

He even compared Pakistan with India, which despite tough challenges, won the match in South Africa and have won 2 series in Australia. He asked, 'What has Pakistan won in the last 35 years?"

 

He said, "This is the worst Asian Team I have ever seen on Australian soil, they were in the driver's seat and suddenly you lose 5 wickets in a span of 15 minutes? Their fans were mocking India yesterday but at least they won the match in South Africa and have won 2 series in Australia. What has Pakistan won in the last 35 years?" (Sic)

 

Looking at the Australia-Pakistan series, Australia won both tests -- first by 360 runs and second by 79 runs. Now they lead the series by 2-0.

Can't dispute lol Rishabh Pant was not even born when Pakistan won their last Test down under. Pant has been part of 4 test wins 2 draws in Australia since then. Pakistan could not even draw.

I thought they did much better this time. The criticism shouldn't be for the whole team but against the consistently AWOL, "no less than Bradman" Zimbabar.

Rishab pant dint play wtc final and also india series. Or else 3 0 drubbing was on the cards last time. Instead it was 2-1.

"Worst asian team" is a misnomer.  Bangla, SL and Afghan are much worse, TBH.     But they don't get invited by Aus in the first place. (SL gets invited but only for two test series usually).   Reality is that the Aus' ex-cricketers are getting used to witness their test team getting thrashed repeatedly by Ind down under...Hence they expect Ind's neighbour Pak (which happens to be the world's 5th largest country) to win/draw atleast 1 test in 28 yrs.   When that doesn't happen, they use this misnomer.

what did Bang and SL do there when they went on their most recent tours? Hard to believe the poyz are worse than them when they go there.
