Akashdeep was recovering from dengue when he was in Australia. He was not able to bowl at his full pace or with full effort.

I think his natural length is 6m to 8m. In Australia, one needs to bowl a tad fuller due to the bouncy pitches.

He did in Australia during the first test if I remember correctly, but he doesn't get much bounce so they were able to drive him day in and day out.
He pulled lengths back by a bit in second game.
Though, he did induced so many hit and miss, was entirely unlucky to not get more wickets.

Liked him since his debut. Very Shami like.

Hope he gets regular chances now

He is no way Shami like. He is a new ball bowler. Shami is mostly an old ball bowler subcontinent conditions specialist.

He is regarded similar to Shami courtesy of his runup, accuracy and ability to attack the stumps. Ofcourse, Shami was a better old ball/reverse swing master at the start of his career, while Akash is predominantly a new ball bowler.

Shami was obviously more skillful with the old ball because of the revserve he used to get. But there is similarity in both of them where they both get the ball to skid off the surface and when ball lands on seam it deviates a lot.

But shami hardly did that with old bowl. Shami bowled with up right seam which is good for bounce, not for movement.

If anything an upright seam gets more movement, but he didn't have that control like say Anders or Broad.

Not really. Upright seam gets seam movement which is more prevalent in south africa, not that much in England. In England, you need to swing the ball and upright seam does not help in conventional swing. To swing the ball, you need tilted seam; towards slip for outswing like Dale steyn and anderson, towards fine leg for in swing which anderson was master at and Bhuvi when he started his india career.

Lately, shami too started doing the tilted seam for swing but it takes a lot of practice. Upright seam is highly overrated.

Here is the seam positions for inswing and outswing.

Akash can reverse it, ofcourse not Shami level

But action and lengths they hit is similar, especially to lefties

I didn't say he can't reverse swing the ball. Anyone who can conventionally swing can also swing the old ball if he has decent pace but old ball doesn't just mean reverse swing.  Bowling with old also means being an enforcer, able to bowl good bouncers too, hit deck hard if nothing is happening.
