Maybe since they played him this year regularly in Vijay Hazare, Syed Mushtaq and when selected for Ranji..he hoped few games this season in Ranji as well.

But UPCA selected Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (though his name wasn't on the Ranji probables list) on the helpful pitches.

I hope now he learn from this mistake and move to some other state for opportunities. As I am assuming from next season even Shivam Mavi will get fit and come in the mix of selections.

 

Harshit has played regularly for Delhi in all 3 formats..he was even choosen for Duleep Trophy which shows how much DDCA supports him. But he got injured at the wrong time else he would have played Ranji this year as well. He was one of the successful bowlers for Delhi last Ranji season outbowling likes of Saini & Ishant. 

Harshit has played just 7 FC matches that too in a very weak zone.He has not played since july  2023 any FC matches. Injuries are unfortunate part but they are part of any fast bowler.

 

Ishant played 100 plus tests for one main reason, he was mostly injury free.You cannot blame selectors not selecting injured players.

 

Umran has been rewarded with fast bowling contract just based on his speed.It is now upto him also to show some improvement.I honestly don't think there is any Ranji team who is willing to ignore even a decent fast bowler or fast bowling allrounder.

I think people who are ignored by the national selectors should not take it personally...... they should do what Dwayne Bravo types did in WI, focus on IPL and also T20s outside India and get together a life outside cricket.

 

To heck with the BCCI and their cronies and international cricket. Focus on the IPL.

Players do not draw a lot of attention and money if they are not in Ind intnl team or any international teams.

Once they are not getting into Ind intnl its even harder to retain their place in IPl franchise.

 

Yes -few players are contained with IPL contracts but they know their value and place can drop anytime

His bowling will go couple of notches higher with some more games in SENA tours. Batting though reminds me of a young Harbhajan. Similar style n defence. This guy can definitely score test 100 like bhajji.

It is the job team management to analyze what length is suitable for a given surface which bowler is good at bowling those lengths.  Going in with same team every goddamn match without any analysis can lead to underwhelming performances. May be he could have removed head first over. Who knows. Whole dynamics would have been different.

So much money,but the surplus goes to build fake PR around senior batsmen and few chahetas like Gill

Needs to put a little more effort in his bowling and bring back his pace to 140s which he's was doing earlier vs England at home

His batting is big bonus but needs to focus more and more on building strength to maintain and improve further in pace

I think he is our second best pacer right now but I haven't really seen him replicating the pace and zip he had in his debut series.

He looks a lot more athletic than Siraj. Siraj has bowling fitness. But he doesn't have muscle mass to push himself when needed like Cummins does. ON that score Akash looks fairly fit.  He has that skiddy type delivery ala Shami.  So he just has to focus on that length ball after ball. May be he can change his seam position to create variation. But the line and length should remain the same. Has a good test match length.

He bowled way too wide with the new ball in first innings. Khawaja, Mcsweeny and Labu could leave him easily.

By the time he started bowling probing lines, the ball got really soft and this pitch was really a patta once the ball became soft as seen in both team's innings.

IN the first innings he bowled brilliantly beat them consistently. He couldn't find the edge. That is the way it goes. Sometimes your good balls don't get you wicket. Slightly offline deliveries get you wickets

I think he is not bowling the right length (a bit too short) and is also down in pace compared to debut vs Eng. this is why he is looking relatively pedestrian

Akashdeep is giving Legend Vinay Kumar vibes.I don't think he is any good.I hope we have better bowlers than him in England.
