Gautam Gambhir as next India Coach

Not following IPL but hearing great things about Gambhir and what he has done with KKR.

He may just be the right candidate with his personality. He will ruffle feathers but he could bring in the killer instinct.

Could go very wrong too. But certainly worth a shot.

KKR success is due to their roster management, they have all bases covered and this is the only team to do that. If  can do that to Indian cricket then i am on board.

Gambhir would never have botched our chances of winning WC 2023 final by that bone-headed pitch tampering the way piece of shyte Dravid did. Neither would he have fast-tracked SKY ahead of likes of Srfaraz in Tests, or Rinku in ODIs.

Dravid tampered the pitch ? This is news to me.

Kuch sal pehle MI was winning like anything and we were said MI template should be National template

And Rohit was seen as Chandragupta Maurya and MI staff as Chanakya staff

Rohit became India captain and then we saw he looked absolute nuts in that particular role

Man has no clue when to put slips, bowling changes etc

I'm not saying Gambhir isnt bright, thing is I have no expectations left in the tank

They look good but once they hold India job they become zombies

What exactly was Rohit template?

What exactly has Gambhir done to KKR? Is he even the head (officially)?

Problem is that we go on to credit individuals for management decisions, chance, luck, etc.

If we don't know what's going on the inside, we have no basis to judge.

RR and GT have been doing silly mistakes in both auction and in-match planning, and still had successful cycle. We could have attributed it to chance, but instead, Nehra was made a hero.

There was no pitch tampering. That pitch played same in India Pakistan match too.

Once sharma and kohlii retire gg should get rid of  super star cluture.   Wannabe be super stars likes of Pant gill and sky, jaiswal, should be kept under control, that will be the challenge and he will most likely fail.

You hit the nail on the head. They should treat each player as an equal. They should ban words like "senior player", "experienced", etc. from the dressing room. There is no senior or junior. Selection should be purely based on merit and largely dependent on needs of the game, format and current form. No BS should be entertained for chasing personal milestones.

But alas, none of this stuff will happen, sadly. After all this is Indian cricket and star power rules here.

And this WT20 his selection is Chahal! First of all Rohit himself doesn't deserve a spot in the team, and then he drags all these useless players along with him so he looks better

Dravid and Rohit asked the curator to make the pitch even slower and more spin friendly. The pitch behaved much worse than the India-Pak game. When Pak was batting the pitch was a pretty decent pitch and Pak was actually pretty well set at 160 odd for 2 in about 30 overs or so. There were no demons and it was Babar and Rizwan who were playing way too conservatively. It was Bumrah and Kuldeep's brilliance which changed the match. They couldn't read Kuldeep at all and had no answer to Bumrah in his 2nd spell, especially his change in pace & accuracy.

In the final, the pitch was considerably slower. KL didn't help much with no intent whatsoever at all but it was clear to see the pitch wasn't the same as Ind-Pak one. Also, the final was supposed to be played on a fresh pitch, which would've been much faster and more batting friendly. But our Dynamic Duo of Dravid & Rohit bent the rules and asked for a used pitch for the finals - first time a used pitch was used for an ICC tourney final. Yup, I call this pitch tampering, and they deserved the result they got. Cowards shouldn't win finals and they were so scared they bent the rules to get a tailor made pitch which eventually backfired.

yes just won 2 titles as captain and now his team is in finals

So what, Rohit Sharma won five IPL ttiles and Dhoni won five.

Both have been as useless as they come in t20s  for Indian team.

Why is Gambhir getting the credit and not Iyer???
