After that , they were not even attempting to win, just knocking around and waiting for rain or wickets to fall. Liton was not even farming the strike , was exposing the tail and bakra for wkts to fall. Strange process attempting for a win It's just a tough pitch. Hridoy tried to hit big and got out in the process. The rest of the batters , Litton apart, don't have the talent for it anyway.

Yes to that but the key point is that B'desh would've been lauded even if they had fallen short trying to go the SF spot. Let's say they were bowled out for 100 in 10.4 overs, they would've earned everyone's respect that they wanted to go for the SF spot instead of a win. That loss would've been much better than crawling and winning in say 18th over. The fact that B'desh fans, cricketers, their team management etc. doesn't get this point is what the thread is all about. Can you imagine if India was in a similar situation and they played simply to win the match and not to make it to the knockouts of an ICC event? Can you imagine the deserved backlash in that case? B'desh wouldn't have a better opportunity to get into ICC knockouts. They were handed a gift by extremely negative and conservative batting by Afg. It was a 130-135 pitch and Afg scored 15-20 less than par. But instead of taking the opportunity and aiming for a SF spot, B'desh played the way they did. They lost a lot of respect. All the neutrals and the commies were puzzled by their attitude as well and I would be surprised if anyone takes them as a serious cricketing nation anymore. Even likes of US, Ireland or any other minnow would've gone much harder than what B'desh did. Disgraceful TBH. Edited June 25, 2024 by Ultimate_Game bowl_out, Sgattick10 and Norman 3

Not "we'll see if we don't lose wkts". Even if wkts fall, so what? You're going home anyways and win without going to the SFs is still a loss. Why not go all-in for a win in 12 overs? If you lose so be it but at least you tried to go for the SF. This is the attitude I don't understand at all.
Zero_Unit Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) Yes, player and management should get 100 lash. Even a team like Nepal would have gone gun blazing for that semi spot even if it meant all out in 10 runs. Shameful team Edited June 25, 2024 by Zero_Unit Ultimate_Game 1
Master_better Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 "There would be nothing more pathetic than Bangladesh making it to the semis," said Mamadolla, "If we somehow got to the Semis, BCB would find an excuse to not change the management and fix the problems with this team. I made sure Bangladesh doesn't have any chance whatsoever in making it to the semis. We all know, Afghans deserve to go to the semis. As a fan of the game of cricket, I just ensured the better team made it to the semis." Gollum, Ultimate_Game, coffee_rules and 1 other 4
Master_better Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 "The signs are clear," said Warner, "If you have to depend on a team like Bangladesh to reach the Semi-Finals, its time you hung up your boots. I'm done with cricket after watching Bangladeshis play the game. I don't wanna share the same stage as players like Shunno Dorkar, Mamadolla or any single member of the Bangladesh cricket team."
