maggot_brain Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 No one hates the Indian cricket team more than Indian cricket fans. I too stand guilty as accused. Absolute meltdowns in the SF thread and we walloped them. Mariyam, Lord and neel roy 3
vvvslaxman Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Years of failures in crunch games has made us defensive in order to handle the loss with less pain. India made several errors. But we know how bad England is on difficult wickets. We won. But doesn't mean it is flawless. Thsi team has a lot of scope for improvement. Improper use of Kohli, backing of Dube for wrong reasons. nitinbwj, singhvivek141, Frustrated and 4 others 2 5
Sandz Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 That’s because we have too many passengers in the team. It’s been carried by 5-6 players, others are there just to make up numbers. Ultimate_Game, nitinbwj, Number and 1 other 1 3
Chakdephatte Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Social media is an echo chamber. The algorithms of Twitter and Facebook, two of the most toxic platforms, force us to see all the negativity around us, whatever ideology we belong to. Our feeds are filled with specially curated hate. And for the sake of social conformity, no one seems to go against the popular notion. diga 1
cricketfan28 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Its because of ipl, ipl skewed the expectations, people thought 250 will be the norm after Head's flat track bullying on ameerpet roads.
singhvivek141 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 (edited) We have been lucky so far too in the WC. Rohit has found form, SKY has fought all the odds, Pandya has regained his hitting arc, Bumrah has been the missile on target always. If couple of the above falter in finals...we are toast. Kohli, Pant, Dube, Jadeja, Siraj has been pure passengers.. Edited June 28, 2024 by singhvivek141 nitinbwj, AKane and Ultimate_Game 1 2

He did well against Afghanistan & Bangladesh as well scoring a quick 20 & 36. So I don't know why so much hate towards him. Siraj just played 3 games and did very well in all the 3 games. I agree with Jadeja, Dube and Kohli.
StraightDrive26 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Indian fans are worst. I am not saying we are a great team but again if any other team were as consistent as India have been over the past 5 years or so they will be pretty happy. We are this nation of self-deprecation who can never be happy. I am 100% sure if Virat, Pant, Dube, Jadeja and Rohit are gone, there will be threads raised about Jaiswal being useless after a few failure, Drop Abhishek Sharma etc. This forum will never change. We have the worst fans and no matter who plays we will never be happy. You might say A should not be playing or B shouldn't but cricket is a team game where it has to click together. That's how teams win the tournaments, clicking as a group. Some players play well and some don't, thats how it goes, we need to support it as a team and not individuals no matter who we like or dislike. I support them fully as a group, the analysis and dissection should happen after the tournament is over. Vilander 1

Against Pakistan he scored runs but wasn't a chanceless inns, Pakistan being Pakistan in the field helped us big time. He shouldn't be part of T20 scheme of things, Tests he is absolute gold, maybe ODI as well but not T20. nitinbwj 1
The Dark Horse Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 For me 160 looked like a very good total on this pitch, and yeah coming to icf after a long time. Felt like there was a lot of pessimism on the thread. Just worried fans I guess. Hopefully we should win the cup this time
MumInd Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 its simple... people dont have an understanding of the game.... i said from ball 1 that 160 is more than a winning score.... yet you had people complaining when india where cruising at 8 RPO.... well on target for 160.... most folks don't understand nuances of the game... they are too emotional.... and not rationale enough..... something must be cloduign their jdgement... or more likely.... they just have poor judgement...... go see today England match thread... and you will need a calcuator to add up number of posters panicking.... punchline remains..... people have never played the game like @Chaos or a @Laaloo.... so they dont get that..... not alwyas do you need 250 to win.... the greatest captain of all time.... MSD.... taught us that.... if its a difficult pitch for one team..... no reasons th e other team willl not find it equallly difficult.... we have a really good team.... all pessimist should go take a hike.... we dont need negative energy.... as we embark upon a world T20 finall....

Frustrated Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Let me put it this way. "We hv full faith in our team. But don't hv any faith on Kohli & Dube" Manucrick and vvvslaxman 1 1
Number Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 (edited) It's not the ability and talent in the country that fans lack faith in. In fact most pessimistic fans will argue that in any department bar may be fielding, India is way ahead of other countries in terms of talent. But when they see their team hampering themselves with poor planning and preparations, some bad selections and getting outthought and outsmarted by lesser talented teams they have right to feel frustrated about it. In a sport hardly played by 4-5 countries seriously, a country with so much talent and resources doesn't win anything for such long periods, questions will arise. AKane Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 We have also been helped by some selections by opposite teams..... For example Australia - As bad as some of our selections have been... none has been as bad as a washed up Warner playing over a Jason Fraser McGurk. Stoinis is not looked on as international class by their fans and Tim David is their Dube. England selecting Bairstow and Moeen Ali. Then not bowling Moeen on a spinners rather than pace bowlers wicket with the ball staying low.... So we have had selection issues but so have others. Lastly this thread is more apt if we win the whole show. We should win as Saffies look very suspect .... but this is T20. We have ridden the coat of Rohit Sharma(with SKY) these last couple of matches plus Bumrah/Kuldeep and today Axar in the bowling dept. Others have to stand up too.

Can't keep expecting the same guys to keep stepping up. There's a limit to that
lemsip Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 It is quite clear that a lot of the fans don't really understand the dynamics of this format and still carry the mentality of judging success by individual performance rather than team results and start worrying prematurely. In modern T20, a batsman scoring a quick 15-20 is very valuable and if someone has an off day it's far better they get out quickly without using up too many balls so that the other players get a chance to capitalise on the balls remaining singhvivek141, diga and Frustrated 3

As an Indian fan, considering the current situation, I would take 15 (from 10 balls) kind of inning from our most experienced batter Kohli. But what he gets everytime is 9 (9) or 4(4). This is unacceptable.
