Aside from that one over against Klassen this guy does it all.  His batting in the final is phenomenal. One of the greatest cameos in WT20 history i must say. Let me say it is between Cameo and full blown innings.  But for that run out he would have won the MOM.

Played an absolute gem of an innings! Thwarted a batting collapse, kept the scoreboard ticking and let Kohli stick around till the end. He came out of syllabus to ambush the Saffers, who had a stranglehold on the game with early wickets.

Poor bowling off course, but with so much reverse on display, why would you not bowl 12 overs of fast bowlers, it was a tactical blunder. 

Klassen can do it to literally anybody. Not a big deal.

He had wt20 just like Jaddu had Ct13. Contributed with bat or ball in almost every match.

Could have used Shivam Dube as well moment they realized Klassen is going nuclear against spinners. He could have bowled slower outside his arc.

I think now he finally came out of Jadeja's shadow.

So far always treated as second choice by many due to offering same skillset like Jadeja. But I think time has come now to dump Jadeja from ODI & T20 and use Axar as your first choice allrounder. He has more variety and can bowl in pp as well.

Good to see Rohit finally giving him the confidence that he deserves. Too often in the past he was given a step child like treatment compared to Jadeja.

 

His batting is like a proper midldle order player and has the ability to use his long arms to hit sixes. Bowling wise, he won the semis for us. Went a bit clueless against Klaasen today but that can happen to anyone facing such a marauding batsman.

Axe has contributed immensely in this tournament that last over to Klassen notwithstanding. He was asked to step up to the plate with bat in hand in difficult situations and delivered what was expected. Kudos Bapu, well done.

I think people forget how hard a role he had.

 

Floater so no fixed position. Can be expected to finish game or come up order.

 

Bowls in powerplay. Again not easy.

he has been an unsung hero..the over which Klassen looted him for penalty was the only blemish in Rohit's captaincy I felt today..bad move at that time..pandya was better option..as surface was not assisting spinners that much..

Imagine Kela batting with Kohli in that same situation yesterday

We would have ended up far below or may had even collapsed

Jadeja has never ever played an innings like this in Odis let alone t20s

Although I don't like him either,but if he take his batting to next level he can be a very handy AR especially in shorter formats

And tests at home(obviously Jadeja role)

Nope. Its better to have bowled Hardik than Axar. Rohit should have known the spinners are going to get tonked as soon as he saw Kuldeep getting spanked. Its an error to bowl Axar in that over.

Had a very good tournament but almost gave it away in that last over .

Him and Kuly (Both DC lads) lead the spin department very well

Looked our most solid bat throughout the WC.  They underutilised his batting still. Should have batted ahead of Dube.

 

Bowling is perfectly suited to the tracks he got before the final
