Singh bling Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) Leave aside nationalism. Honestly tell which cup you enjoyed more For me T20 was much more entertaining than ODI WC Edited July 1, 2024 by Singh bling
The Hound Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 T20 is more entertaining to watch. The more prestigious trophy remains the ODI world Cup though, maybe it has to do that it happens every 4 years like a real big tournament. Think they need to change the ODI format a bit to make it interesting like 40 overs per side instead of 50.
velu Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 same .. i didnt expect us to win this T20 WC , gives more joy and happiness in 2011 we were exoected to win nitinbwj 1

That's why test cricket is the ultimate toughest format in cricket. rollingstoned, singhvivek141, nitinbwj and 2 others 1 4
rageaddict Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 T20 WC easily. There were hardly any thrillers in the 2023 WC, except a couple of matches like Pakistan SA match. While this T20 WC had many exciting matches including the finals. Odi WC has greater history and prestige but being only a 10 Team WC doesn't create an impression of a Global tournament, T20 WC with 20 teams looks like a Proper World Cup.. nitinbwj 1
Suhaan Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 50 over CWC ,our campaign last year was immense joy Bigg Brother, Nikhil_cric and nitinbwj 1 2
Laaloo Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 T20 is a joke. Id sacrifice 2-3 of these world cups just for one more ODI victory especially if we beat Australia in that final. Bigg Brother and Nikhil_cric 2

Agreed..test cricket has now become entertaining because of good bowler friendly pitches which provide results...t20 is a yawn fest until the last 10 overs of chasing side...many times the results are pretty apparent ..it is quite predictive these days.. I would try to make the rules and pitches more balanced to ensure the bowlers are in the contest and 300 is a winning total instead of 370 ie it is not an extended t20. Odis follow a script..save wickets till 30 and then treat it as t20... That script needs to be changed. The toss impact should be reduced. Both of these can be addressed by breaking the game into 30 plus 20 overs with two winning conditions etc. basically make people excited for the entire duration of the game.
Ultimate_Game Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 I prefer ODIs to T20Is as T20s is way too unpredictable. ODIs provides a good balance between skills and luck as long as external factors such as dew or batting under lights don't skew the results in favor of a team.
Frustrated Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 Entertainment/Thrill Factor: Nothing beats T20WC. But longer formats (ODI WC & Tests-WTC) are real cricket.
Singh bling Posted July 4, 2024 Author Posted July 4, 2024 Like football the entire world plays T20. You can check scores on cricinfo but very few teams play odi. So T20 will get bigger and bigger with each cup. No chance for odi to grow.

Guess our Test Fanatics and Odi lovers want Cricket to be a limited affair between 10 Countries only. Edited July 4, 2024 by rageaddict

deathmonger Posted July 4, 2024 Posted July 4, 2024 ODI has that legacy effect but t20 will (is?) become the premier format of the future.

I'm not against t20s,not at all against it Infact the first edition in 2007 was a breath of fresh air It is etched in my memory, but too many T20 leagues and the monotonous pattern has took the real flavour out of it Now it looks scripted all over the globe Edited July 4, 2024 by Suhaan
