Tbh he doesn't have that long anyway- I would give him this rope for the exceptional past performances he has done for tje nation.

 

But we cant just allow contracted players enmasse moving to the west and have no playing time in the indian domestic setup- they will be literally like mercenaries who come to play for India collect their pay check and leave.

Some of these superstars may want to avoid paps, fandom, lead normal lives etc. In Nole's case I am sure taxes played a part.

Tennis is not a condition dependent sport. Kohli can't practice playing spin bowling staying in England.

Disagree with you. If I ever have that kind of money, I would love to be in India. If you've money, India is the best country to be in and the kind of things it can buy you, you won't be able to get in any Western country. You literally wouldn't have to worry about anything but in western countries, you'll still be a regular citizen, though with more purchasing power.

Vishy Anand settled down in Spain long back. But he had most of his tournaments in EUrope. So it was convenient for him.  But he also splits his time between India and Spain.

Can't wait for Kohli to leave for England permanently. Enough of picking & choosing series, and taking "breaks" as if he owns Indian cricket. If anyone in Indian cricket had any balls, they would've given Kohli a permanent break by now. And it's not as if he's gonna do much anyways given his track record in away Tests. The team has looked better everytime he's not there - be it 2017 Dharamshala Test against Aussies, 2020-21 Aus tour, or the recent Eng series at home.

 

Jaiswal, Pant, Bumrah and bowlers are the key players and will decide the Aus tour, and hope Kohli takes another long break and drops out of the series

Dont think he has ever played county till now... doubt if he even played club cricket in Eng and his technical deficiencies were severely exposed in his first tour by Anderson.

Question remains, is Kohli motivated enough to play. If he is he will be fine.These ten tests will show where he ends up in his test career.
