Case for Congress / Opposition

Lately I have been coming across very smart people who say they are tired of Modi and want a change. At certain level I see this and totally understand. 

 

But on the other hand, I get a blank look when I ask for alternate policies. I don't get to know answers when I ask for track of record of RG and why did he not take up any responsibility when they had power. 

 

I think congress 2004-2014 was net neutral with three big issues - corruption, policy paralysis and internal security. In terms of trend, it had deteriorated. 

 

I voted for MMS in 2009 inspite of screw ups in Mumbai. Because he has a vision. But 15 years later all I hear as alternate view is muslim appeasement, caste census and communist style redistribution. So why should a normal non aligned middle class hindu vote for congress ?

 

We know bjp and Modi suck. But what is your case for Congress govt based on policies and not holy family. What is Congress grand vision for India.

One time a girl messaged "I miss you" to me over WhatsApp, only to delete it and type wrong window. I made sure to check other guys with Vikrams and Vickys I knew if they knew her.

@op  Congress is officially a Muslim Party. In its history, Since Indiraji, For first time it has been able to convince Muslims that they are only ones who they must vote. Also, NC didnt needed them in Kashmir but Congress allied with them, just to cement their position in Muslim vote bank.

 

Question is: can they divide Some non Muslims to vote for them as block. They are still not sure who to. So they will continue their caste angle and get certain caste totally behind them. Just that, till NOw  they havent got it right about which caste and when, simply due to diversity of Hindus  across various states in India

 

People like @Lone Wolf will sooner or later be kicked out of Congress Support base unless their caste base qualifies the Strategic Hindu Caste which Congress will target. They are just tactical vote base for now to Congress. He will realise it soon

I think Current BJP is rudderless & with literally no vision whatsoever.

I actually worry for the future of this country.

Millions of illegal Bangladeshis have infiltrated India in last decade or so. Even the legal numbers seem shocking.  Amount of visas issued is mind numbing.

Taking a random stroll in Delhi and nearby Haryana opens up the eyes literally. Wasn't the case ten years ago.  I have heard similar things from my friends living in other parts of the country even south India.

National security is in a bad shape overall.  I wonder how much of a worse shape North East is in with additional missionary activities on a rampage.

This is a extremely casteist type regime in a long while & signs are it is bound to get worse.  Thanks to that politics is around same issues.

Forget about getting things done.

This is what happens when a OBC is incharge.

Muslim castes being added into OBC category in Maharashtra is another example.

 

Rise of freebie politics... Ladli behen Yojana & others... Pointless to say thanks Bane of Dehatism.

 

2014 overall felt a lot more optimistic than 2024 tbh & overall change is very much needed.

Kashmir is a very bad example literally.  Abdullah's are pretty mild in comparison to PDP whom BJP partnered with & those Green Lotus posters stuff was beyond pathetic.

 

Congress denying PDP and parties like AAP which have nefarious motives is what makes them appealing option to me.

Knowing my luck it was probably just a wrong window though. It was pretty random and there were at least 2 other guys with the same first name at the workplace, could have been them or someone else entirely

How about this: BJP effectively finished PDP and took decision which it wanted . Results of this election proove that

 

I allways regarded Abdullah (Specially Farroq) as someone who is sweet talker , controls his emotion like no other leader (Nationally and Internationally) but he delivers. When I say delivers, It means hhe delivers terrorism, Separatism, kills Hindus, releases arrested terrorist, makes money  in well planned and smoothly executed, legal way and easily shifts the blame to someone else.

 

I sincerly hope we neverhave another Abdullah. Farooq Abdulla is Owaisi time 10. If it was to me, I would have let Security agencies kill him and blame terrorists did it in 1990s itself. Again wrong comparison... I have visited Kashmir multiple times & I know how much separatist thought is seeped into the masses. 

Folks like Abdullah are necessary evil as they are probably least of those things right now in Kashmir compared to what's in store otherwise.

As someone who used to support BJP,( early Modi era) I rooted for NC BJP alliance but BJP went with PDP & literally bent over backwards for them.  NIT Sringar kaand comes to mind. Local BJP is virtually non existent full of clowns.

Overall best possible result that NC is single biggest party there & not PDP.  Death of senior Mufti was Massive in decline of PDP &, people blamed art 370 removal solely on mehbooba.

These are the number of terrorism fatalities year wise JnK, naxal, north east and all the rest of India- 

Year 2000 = 1260+573

2014 = 400+167

2024 till date = 114 + 49

 

These are fairly accurate figures on satp.org.

 

Compare this to Pakistan which is at its weakest security wise as well as economically.

 

On internal security and on managing china, Pakistan, this govt has done a fantastic job given the geographical constraints and neighbourhood.

That's pretty casteist. Jo dattareya gotra naki brahmin is going around jaati-jaati, how do you have high hopes for Congress to do any better on the caste front. This version of BJP doing so much jaati PR is unprecedented. They used to be for merit under Vajpayee. This is done for survival and this and the revdi culture will take India to the brink of bankruptcy. 

 

You paint a very sorry picture like Supriya Shrinate. India has improved in all numbers since 2014, less corruption, per-capita GDP is $2000ish back to what it was in 1947. Per-capita was $300 in 1991. Congress policies till then took India to abysmal levels. I can never imagive power going back to Congress and it will be all back to gloomy days.

The number of fatalities become arnd 1/3rd every 10 years

 

If the trend is to continue, we should expect in 2034, arnd 40 civilian n 15 security forces fatalities.

 

In year 2044, arnd 13 civilian n 5 security forces fatalities....

Since you already agree BJP sucks, I don't have much to argue. I voted for BJP in 2014 and I am from TN. I had high hopes. I thought Modi will be like CBN but he is not that good.

 

Overall, 2014-2024 has some positives under Modi administration. NPCI introduced UPI which is probably the best thing for cashless transaction. Abolition of article 370 in Kashmir was a ballsy move and Kudos to that. Other than that, he gave hope to the Hindu community that every Hindu caste can be united. But BJP has massively failed to work towards the abolition of caste at an ideological level.

 

Garlanding people who committed mass murder and rapes in Gujarat riots, giving power to antisocial people like Brij Bhushan are downright horrendous.

 

Collectively, BJP has completely tainted the "spiritual" aspect of my religion 'hinduism' with words like 'hindutva' which I didn't know the meaning of till 2016 and 'cow urine'. I have never seen any political party obsessed  with cow urine more than BJP.
