There is nothing to gain in Ranji Trophy on those tracks.

I think he Will play those 4 day games in Australia.

Morkel definately wants him I think.  The retention thing sucks honestly. 

If he doesn't plays tomorrow rest assured he won't be seen until BGT.

every stadium should have shades and covers for audiences, rain and sun over audiences is not a way to watch match specially test where ppl have to sit under bring sun

Happy with the squad. 

 

Harshit and Mayank, as travelling reserves, is not a bad thing given the fact that there is no Dayal or Mukesh in the actual squad.

 

Against NZ, they may play just 2 pacers and the travelling reserves may get to play a Ranji game or two.

Very rare to find a pacer who is so accurate at express pace.

 

Mayank has never been inaccurate and has low ERs in T20Is, IPL, List A and domestic T20s. Even in the solitary FC match he has played. 

 

Plus has a high wickets per match ratio in List A, IPL and overall T20s.

I personally do not think Umran and Mayank are similar bowlers/players except for speed.

 

Mayank has it in him to succeed. Hope he does not listen to bad advice, keeps his head in place and does what he showed us in IPL. Clearly the management sees the potential to elevate him so quick. Even if it takes few years, we need to persist. We carried Ishant sharma for eternity.

If we win all 3 tests against NZ, we are most likely gonna qualify for WTC Final irrespective of how badly we perform subsequently in BGT.   So, it makes sense to play him in all 3 tests and consolidate our top position before BGT starts.  (Even if Bumrah gets injured at the start of BGT, there should not be any problem.  All we need to do is to ensure that we don't lose 0-5 to Aus.  I m talking about the worst possible scenario)

I have to say the last couple of team selections have shown improvement. I like that they have chosen the right set of players as travel reserves. Mayank Harshit Prasidh. Yash has been dropped without playing. I wasn’t expecting them to deviate from the pecking order lol.

Gambhir has most definitely played a role in this. Anyways forced or not, Agarkar is showing some signs of improvement. Siraj is walking on thin glass now. If he doesn’t perform, I think he’s going to be thrown out soon.

travelling reserves have very high potential and it seems they are the one's marked to play tests in future.

akashdeep did well, siraj tried but could not impress and so if he fails against NZ , he can even be dropped from australian tour.

i feel india will play boom for two tests and win them and third siraj and akashdeep may play together.

 

prasidh is failing now but he has high potential and so is nitish/harshit/mayank. nitish is no where as good as Hardik but definitely better than dube/venky iyer...actually nitish is also no where equal to Hardik AR , his batting for tests may be OK but his bowling requires improvement

Bumrah is more valuable in BGT than this series against NZ. I won't mind it if he is rested for 2nd or/and 3rd test. Just imagine him playing 5 tests in a span of 2

months before Aus tour.
