KL and Sai are awful, Jaiswal is slowly getting worked out. Rohit should cancel retirement, announce it sometime during IPL. It would make sense as Rohit is playing ODI WC until 2027 might as well play tests this cycle to stay in rhythm , the players being tried are hardly exceptional. Return in SL series away, 2 tests in NZ where he averages over 40. Finish off in 5 tests series vs Aus at home, who knows change of fortunes and India qualify for 2027 WTC final win that and then win ODI WC sign of to the sunset. to be honest bro, with IPL and focus on ODI wc, don’t think it will happen. when you reach the wrong side of 30s, the miles on your body matter a lot. even if an offer is made, he will not accept it unless it is kind of a transitional role for 1 series under a special circumstance. Rohit has worked on his fitness a lot, this was the stick that was kept on being used to use as reason for him to be dropped. Virat had supreme fitness but that does not equate to runs, it is all about perception. Rohit has that extra time so reflexes won’t be affected as much especially in subcontinent conditions. If he hammers SA in the ODI”s the bandwagon will start. The main question to answer is Rohit better than KL, Sai, Paddikal, emphatic YES even at his current age. It is hardly a taxing schedule in Tests. 2 matches in Aug 2026 2 matches in Dec 2026 5 matches before IPl 2027. The current batting line up seems very impotent, they can’t attack or defend, headless chicken, deer in the headlights stuff. maniac 1

The Realist Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Missed his playing out a maiden over in T20 tournament. Hence has missed out on two T20 trophies. Justice for Rahul? @maniac Ultimate_Game and maniac 1 1

vvvslaxman Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I was curious to see why Kela has such a low strike rates in all 4 ICC world cups he participated in. Since our next big tournament is 2027 ODi world cup i checked his performances. He has very high percentage of dot balls. More than 50% cricspirit 1

The Realist Posted June 4 Posted June 4 Unsurprising. Played out maidens in T20 WC. Wilts under any pressure. Should be nowhere near any tournament. Yet Meek & Depressed will inevitably be selected for another WC. Ultimate_Game 1
Manucrick Posted June 5 Posted June 5 it is crazy how the discussion is always about iyer and patidar getting chances while kl rahul escapes all the heat despite failing to justify his place in two international formats Gollum, singhvivek141, Ultimate_Game and 2 others 5
Ultimate_Game Posted June 6 Posted June 6 It's shocking to me that selectors are slotting KL Rahul as the first choice wk in ODIs when we have likes of Ishan and Samson around! I'm big fan of Ishan as he has that mongrel in him and is always up for a fight. I would've kicked out KL Rahul long ago and replaced him with Ishan. Tillu, Suhaan, Manucrick and 1 other 4
NameGoesHere Posted June 7 Posted June 7 A 100 against Afghanistan at home. Pardon me for not celebrating- All I can see is red ink. Plus, an average of 36 in 67 Tests, this guy is very lucky. And set for the next 10 Test where chances are he will conform exactly to his weak average tapandrun 1

Anyway this is one of KL's issues, even in innings like this he doesn't get a daddy score which affects his avg. Gollum 1

So often he scores big in 1st test and then goes completely missing for rest of the series. Other batsmen build on the confidence gained from a good innings and continue doing well for rest of the series, or at least manage 1-2 more big knocks. KL is ulta. rollingstoned and Frustrated 2

Frustrated Posted June 7 Posted June 7 He was out twice in this inning against Afghan who did not opt for review. Fluke 100 which should hv never crossed 40 on any other day. Ultimate_Game 1

Multiple times he's gone as soon as he gets there. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/who-has-been-dismissed-for-exactly-100-the-most-times-in-tests-1495089 Edited June 7 by BacktoCricaddict Frustrated 1
