They don't need perform in one odd Ranji  match. Kohli on his last legs is still 1000 times better than Karun Nair ever was.or Sai ever will be.

He could have scored 500 plus runs easily on this tour.

Bowling has been very easy and pitches very flat.

If guy like Rahul can score 500 even Rohit would have scored 500 plus runs easily too.

Last five years with Kohli on terminal decline. He still did better than Rahul,

Other than Root, Pant and Head no other opposition player did that better than him either.Guy like Steve Smith averaged 36 to Kohli's 32.

You sure Sai is done or even if he continues he won't be any better than Kohli?I'm not that impressed with Sai as well but I will still give him benefit of doubt for he's too young and there is lot to be played ,still he plays percentage cricket and we need guys play tests as one

And let me bring you out of your delusion,Kohli is a very low bar in tests to cross

'They Want To Fight For The Common Man': Gambhir Says Team India Making Its Own History

What kind of nonsense is this?

Maybe he meant "passionate fan on the street"...but he is a politician and can twist words

I feel India has done well despite some of his (Gambhir) tactical decisions. Let’s not forget: India lost 3-0 at home (to) New Zealand, lost comfortably to Australia (away). The fight we’ve seen in this team? That’s down to the players. Because tactically, Gambhir hasn’t always made things easier – especially with some of his selections," he added.

Indian players  all care and it has shown, the moronic coach is the one who is holding this team back.

Worst XI selected. Washington Sundar at 8, followed by  only 3 pacers. We may break down another pacer. Gambhir is probably not even looking to take 20 wickets. We are playing for a draw, even on a green pitch. WTH really!

Surely, this has to be end for Gambhir in the red ball.

But but bcci morans don't want split coaching

Issue is gambhir the redball coach and agarkar the selector

We need bowlers who can pick 20 wickets can current lot give u 20 wickets regularly no are they one dimensional yes, prasidh did well in patches plus he is already 30 bumrah's body is finally taking toll , akashdeep too is good in patches and siraj though lion hearted can go missing, Agarkar's job is to find an able young core and whom does he pick Kamboj, mukesh Deshpande plus Guys at NCA should be sacked or be given verbal lashing for mishandling so many pacers, tyagi, umran, Mayank Mohsin, koti are all injured lot of time,we are not investing in genuine quicks or lively bowlers

Making Gautham Gambhir the coach of the national team was a bad decision. I will stand by it no matter what happens tomorrow. He was a hot head while playing and yes he was clutch but that does not make him a good coach. KKR winning the IPL title did more harm to the Indian cricket in a way. His decisions as a coach has been poor and the team selections have been pathetic. We came to England without much thinking and it shows in the way the teams were selected. On a pitch which was green on Day 1, we went with 3 pacers and 2 spinners who hardly bowled 5-6 overs overall. India losing this series is because of poor selections. I feel that India should seek out someone like Gary Kirsten if he is still available. We need a coach who can guide the youngsters, Gambhir can be the T20 and ODI coach.

Kuldeep sitting on the bench entire series while we struggle to take 20 wickets every match, is next level

The greatest spin bowling talent since Shane Warne has played just 13 tests since his debut 8 years ago. Only in India.

Our top order is highly inconsistent,no one is there like Root,Smith or even Bavuma, Williamson to hold it

If not for Jadeja and Sundar we would have lost the 4th test also

Gambhir Gill being strategically inept, can't blame them on not further thinning batting by adding Kuldeep

Maybe they could have dropped 1 of the pacers but then it meant going with only two pacers which i believe no captain or coach would go with

Sai/Nair are just numbers but they feared to drop batsmen on a green surface upfront

Looking at GG's obsession for batting, I doubt Kuldeep will get to play even at home. In Home conditions, Axar will come into picture. So Jaddu-Washi-Axar. Kuldeep will retire with few tests to his name only.
