Always thought he was extremely mediocre journeyman player. Suddenly started playing good knocks and epic knocks.

 

always keeps getting beaten like a tailender against good deliveries, keeps cashing in and smashing the lose deliveries with perfect precision.

 

Is this pure luck and fluke or am I missing something here? People with cricket acumen explain please.

It's simple. Travis Head is what you thought Rohit Sharma at his peak was.

He is want Pant does to oppositions.
He may be edgy, he may look ugly. But he makes runs quickly and bashes deliveries badly even if you give him a hint of width. His hand eye coordination is superb.
Such players, will take the game away from out in a flash. Immediately puts the pressure on the bowling unit.
He wasn't backed up early by Australia, hence looked like a mediocre player. The moment TM gives their backing and confidence, the best version comes out.

Naa,he's a terrific batsman

He has done it many times since the start of Ashes 23

He looks flashy,that's his style of play

I simply salute his turnaround,an overnight boon,transformed him into MVP player in the world

He is a strong cutter and Puller... Picks the length early and has fast hands.

Already more gifted than limited players like Chokli.

 

It's a pity he under achieved but is playing ATG clutch inns back to back.

not a strong puller. Other teams get him on short stuff too frequently

Not a evident weakness.  Every player even Rohit gets out on Pull.

 

Except Punter nobody has been able to nail Pull in 21st century.

Left handers always tend to be bit off against short stuff. Likes of Eoin Morgan have struggled as well.

I still think Head is still better than every Indian batter on Pull not named Rohit.

 

I remember Johnson Alzaari Joseph have owned Kohli with short stuff over the years.

 

Dhoni was rare great Puller in recent times.

Pink ball test isn’t really in our favour, we hardly play those and had very limited practice against the pink ball.

 

Starc becomes an insane bowler with the pink ball, he averages 16 with the pink ball and 29 otherwise.

 

Without Hazelwood they are definitely gonna find it difficult in Gabba with a red ball, Starc becomes half the bowler.

his last 8 innings prior to this and perth average around 15. his peaks turns games but there's plenty of rubbish in between. our guys could learn from that. rohit and virat have 12 innings left this series. a big ton from each alongside 10 failures could win the series. just go for it!

What makes you think they'll make a difference now when they haven't done so their entire career? Can you remind me when either Rohit or Kohli won a Test with their batting away from home?

 

Kohli has been a tailender for more than 5 years now. And Rohit can't even bat for a session, forget playing a match-winning innings.
