Loosing 3-0 to this kiwis at home automatically disqualified India

This side doesn't deserve to be in the finals that too,only to loose badly without a fight

Not all of them are going to be part of next WTC cycle...so it's better to create a team afresh so that they can get sufficient experience for the next cycle (in case if we qualify).

India has played second highest number of test matches. Sa 10, India 16. How can you have such huge disparity. Remove India's last test 5 tests and check the percentage. More you play, more chances of losses. Every team must play minimum 15 test.

Every team plays equal # of series, which carry equal points. It is the matches in a series that vary.

It would have been so good if we won the Nz series, we could have faced SA in finals and given their choking powers another trophy was for the taking.

Was obvious and just a matter of time. They have many home games and their away games are against weaker oppositions

SA is a deserving candidate. However, I don't remember them playing against AUS and ENG even once in this cycle. If that's true, then it is quite bemusing to say the least. Also, we are playing 16 games vs SA playing only 10. Somehow, the scheduling has to be done so that all the team plays each other.

That's a ridiculously flawed logic..

 

Someone can easily flip this and say "The more you play, the more you can win" and if would make just the same amount of sense. There are clear advantages and disadvantages of playing both more and less tests in a cycle that ends up levelling the playing field. 

 

A team that plays less tests (like South Africa) gets hugely affected by a single loss as the margin of error is very small. Team like India or Australia have more margin of error and can recover from the one off defeats.

A team that gets swept 3-0 by NZ at home doesn't deserve to be in the finals.

If you are playing top teams and very few mediocre teams you will have disadvantage but in our loosing to NZ was bad. It is very similar to us loosing to England in 2012.

Only 2 Tests remaining for India in the current cycle, desperately looking for a victory at MCG. Australia would remain above India as long as they dont lose another Test.

What’s the point of India playing the final .. it’s always a 1 sided affair .. atleast with Aus vs SA .. head won’t get a century
