Taken in the context of their overall declines, it is clear that they are way over the hill. Kohli in terms of batting form. Rohit in terms of general cricketing fitness. They may luck into a good knock here and there, but the time to build a team around them is gone. I really wish these guys would be secure enough in their legacies as India's ODI ATGs and recognize that it is time for them to step away. nevada and Lord 2

You know what they say about "Two wrongs don't make a right." Honestly, it was very painful to watch VK struggle with the bat against B'desh. And RGS rode his luck, edging and mistiming into no-man's land before getting hold of a couple of balls. I have no problem in letting youngsters play. But I would give these two some slack since they already are here. They earned it.
wanted_desi Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 There's a perfect solution! Just attend practice, take amazing pics and videos, and showcase those iconic poses. During real matches, just sit outside, shower your wife and kids with flying kisses, and let the cameras focus on you. Your fans get more screen time, and India doesn’t have to suffer. ODIs are rarely played and every now and then there will be flat pattas presented by BCCI to ensure the numbers don't fall below a threshold. New guy 1

Even Shreyas Iyer isn't that bright, but he still can score some runs at a decent clip. Jaiswal-Rinku-Tilak-Riyan-Abhishek-Nitish-Jurel are the core group which can take up the left spots. Precisely, Rinku-Riyan-Nitish-Jurel should be a core for all formats. Should’ve since 2023. KL Rahul should sit on the bench, because part-time wicketkeepers should also be part-time in the squad. Vk1 Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 How can someone struggle in ODIs these days unless the pitches are rank turners..if you compromise slightly on strike rate anyone can average 50.. since last decade odi cricket is the easiest format for batsmen in cricket history especially for accumulators singhvivek141 and Lord 2

Scoring runs when platform is set is very different from absorbing pressure of early wickets and playing till end is different beast.Iyer is not capable of it. Yuvi did that brilliantly in some matches in 2011.Iyer plays only one way and is too loose with shot selection. I would not have brought either of them to CT.Pant is already here, Jaiswal should have been here too.Rahul should not have opened in 2022 world t20 either but moronic Dravid kept playing him as opener when Pant was healthy and sitting on bench.everyone knew he would flop in the semifinals including him. That's why most of them have high averages
putrevus Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 Top three batting need ability to play long innings. They need to pace their innings , we just saw how easy it was for Head and Smith chasing 350 . If it was that easy to bat in top three everyone would have done it.There is reason why best Batsmen bat in top three in odis historically also.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 These piece of shytes, especially Kohli have taken the best spots in the batting order and blocked youngsters like Jaiswal. And it's not as if these useless seniors are performing and winning. Going trophyless for more than a decade and laying eggs in nearly every ICC tourney is what they've done. Any other nation would've kicked them to the curb long time ago and folks like Jaiswal, Parag and Rinku would be in the scheme of things but here we still have likes of useless Kohli and failure Rahul in the team. You are basing that on sample size of grand 1 innings lolwat. Who said top 3 can't fail in a one off innings. Head averages 50+ as an opener with s/r of 110+. Edited February 23, 2025 by Number

Head has shown up on the biggest stage and been the difference maker in 2 ICC tourneys, winning them single handedly. He shows up when it matters. This tourney is not gonna be any different with Kohli laying another egg and costing us another tourney. We're lucky to be playing all our matches at a venue which suit us and this is a great opportunity for us to win. Wish we had likes of Jaiswal or Parag in there but not to be. Another winnable tourney will go down the drain. Number and Frustrated 1 1
