For a country which wasnt known for producing fast bowlers, let alone a world class one. Bumrah is definitely a refreshing change.

The way he has transformed himself from a T20 only bowler to a red ball G.O.A.T. is a motivation for every young fast bowler who are satisfied with IPL paychecks, Test cricket is what makes you once in a life time bowler.

He has truly leapfrogged every Indian pacer historically ever produced. I would keep him at par with great Sachin Tendulkar and I hope he will inspire young fast bowlers just like Sachin did.

Kapil is the best India has produced , we can discuss who is after him . Not just he won the WC  but changed the Indian cricketing culture for good, a winning culture.

Kapil Dev was a world class allrounder. But he was toe in toe with his competitors.

Bumrah is comfortably ahead of his peers, bring his all format stats and is in league of his own across the era's. ODI, T20, Test...he is a complete bowler in every sense.

Bit counter productive getting in comparison of great players. They exist within their context which are so different. Kapil took Indian cricket from minnow level to world beaters in that age. Bumrah plays in peak professional era with so much tough high level cricket and has left everyone behind. He is undisputed best player without any excuse of condition or competition.

Bumrah is the best Test and T20I cricketer we have ever produced. Genuine match-winner.

And his brand of cricket is exciting to watch too. Accurate genuine fast bowling with sufficient bounce and movement.

Kohli in T20Is for me, he proved himself in at least 3 WCs. Bumrah flopped hard in 2016, 21, needs at least one more epic T20 WC to be compared to Kohli.

Even in tests he doesn't have longevity, and needs more to show, perhaps a WTC trophy or a defining performance in NZ. His record in important tests leaves a lot to be desired.

Kapil Dev and Dhoni won WCs for India , how many WCs or WTC Bumbra has won , ( I don;t consider T20 a serious format ) ?

Kapil was competing with all time great ARs , which the cricketing world had never seen before and will never see in future ( at the same time ) , Bumrah is the best bowler in the world today, no doubt , but he is competing only with some aging Australian fastmen, except Cummins or probably Rabada of SA. Thanks to the mergence of T20, quality fast bowler is an endangered specie .

Cricket tournaments can't be won by individuals, its a team game and unless the team as a collecting unit wont perform, how they will win big trophies ?

The WC which Kapil won, he was aptly supported by Roger Binny, Mohinder Amarnath, Yashpal Sharma throughout the tournament. Even Srikkanth played a key role in the finals.

MSD won the 2007 & 2011 WC despite doing nothing except for the finals. It was Yuvraj who were the elite performer & GG weathered the storm in both the final games.

In 2023 WC, Shami & Bumrah did excellent as a pair. But batters failed to perform in the finals, what Bumrah can do then ?

Cut this crap pls. He was never a t20 only bowler he always had good numbers in fc right from the beginning.

It's a notion that he's a t20 specialist cuz of his action and his tendency to try yorkers. The management firmly believed that and so were some fans. He may have been undercooked for the longer format but he always performed.

I am talking about general perception from BCCI POV.

He was viewed earlier as a T20 bowler by BCCI, and had to wait for 1.5 yrs to debut in tests.

Avid cricket fans always knew the ability which Bumrah had for longest format. Just one concern was with injuries considering his awkward action.

Else he took a 5fer in A tour to Australia (same match Umesh scored a 100 with the bat).
