Once Imran retired , team was back to its usual activities, too much in fighting , Waseem Akram was most to blame . His jealousy with Waqar and his effort to downplay Waqar during his captaincy didn't help. He was also very uncooperative with Saleem Malik when Saleem was captain.

Yeah, seriously! Rain saved them from crashing out of the tournament. They lucked out and won the cup, but winning in this manner did them more harm than good. In pretty much every world cup, they lose early games and look to manifest miracles in the form of desired win-loss permutations for opponents. In 30 years, they got lucky in a similar manner just once more, with SA choking against the Netherlands in the T20 WC and gifting then an entry to the SF.

Their best captains have been Pathans or Indian-migrant community settled in Karachi.

Even after 2000 they played better under Younis Khan, Misbah and Sarfraz. Under Sarfraz they could have played 2019 SF too if not for that washed out game.

They already defeated us in the 2021 T20 world Cup match in Dubai. More events means more chances to cause an upset and succeed. And Akthar played in a team which was far superior to the current team.

That was not our 90s indian team, we have never lost to pakistan in world cups with Sachin in the team.

Yeah I cringe when Paxtanis compare Dimran to Nelson Mandela or Jesus from the movie Passion of the Christ. He is just another power hungry politician. They truly believe he has some magic wand which will transform Paxtan in a few years.

 

Even when they discuss about developing their country they don't want to follow the step by step initiatives taken by India or Bangladesh or Srilanka, they straightaway want to become the next South Korea. Most Paxtanis suffer from delusions of grandeur.

Akthar was never a 90s player, he debuted late 90s and played most of his cricket in 2000s, sehwag, yuvi, dhoni always thrashed him, even harbhajan, from 86-97 Pak dominated big time, it was due to wasim, Imran, ijaz, Salim Malik, Miandad and co, Pak in the 90s lost Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, aus all at home
