End of an Era - Mushfiqur Rahim retired from ODI Cricket

I thought he and Tamim Iqbal had retired a year or so ago, and Mahmudullah is the one who retired now

All these batsmen are clearly retiring from the most irrelevant format which is the ODIs. So I don't really see them as retirements.

Kinda sad isn't it. I grew up watching all these players making their debut to ending their career. After most of the current lot retires, I don't think i'll watch cricket as passionatly. WC23 was pretty much out the door for alot and this CT was probably the end of the career for most from that generation.

Think Mushi and Mahmudullah have married a pair of sisters or cousins, somehow related now. Both have grown big beards and are jamaatis now, one (or both) of their wives is daughter of some big name cleric. Mahmudullah in fact has had a U-turn, was fairly liberal 10 years back, now very religious. 

 

Shakib and his wife are ultra liberal compared to BD standards, but they can never step foot in their country again.
