There has been talk about this being great opportunity to break the status quo on this conflict and bring about final solution to Pakistan.

Ofcourse "final solution" reminds of something. But I don't care.

In my lifetime, there has never been a more open talk of breaking up and ending of this artificial concept of Pakistan. In fact I never thought of it till last couple of months. But I am not sure how feasible / realistic this is. Or what would that version of that lad look like. I can certainly imagine that elites have hedged their bets and are ready to flee as we speak. Pakistan is at its lowest and ready to be dismantled internally. Financially they are sitting on 10 bn dollars of reserves ( which is borrowed ) and crumbling economy. Plus Balochistan, KPK, Sindh, Gilgit. Now few earthquakes and water cuts, the implosion should begin.

But lets say this happens. And I do believe we are getting closer every day. What will the post environment look like ? What is our end goal here ? Stop jihadi terror, yes. Access to East Asia and Eurasia. US setting bases for China conflict. But it can be messy too. Brainwashed junta without tyrant leader may not know what is happening to them. Anyway Pakistani are on a trip of their at best of times.

I know some of you may think I am getting ahead of myself. But I do believe these discussions are happening in upper echelons.

Those who talk about destroying others eventually end up destroying their own selves!

Pakistan is destroying itself with its make India bleed with a 1,000 cuts mindset. Now the Pakistani equivalent in India, entrenched in a political divide, could be like - “Hey, how can India be left behind in hate and self destruction”, but in sophisticated societies such a though process “thankfully” remains short lived.

From an Indian pov, we know a strong Pakistan will keep troubling us in Kashmir.

But I can see there is a definite risk with a weak, disintegrated Pakistan too.

Biggest of them being likes of TTP, AQIS, ISIS etc getting a strong foothold in the west of Pakistan. Not sure how long can Pakjab fight them before all of India's west side becomes a battle testing ground.

I think a 'final solution' is already playing itself out.

we have to 'manage' the Pakistan problem like we manage spam and viruses with cybersecurity on our computer. The PakMil can continue to exploit and loot its own people, we take a firm 'firewall' policy towards terrorism emanating from there.  They will continue to flounder and occcasionally muster attacks against us.  We keep doing what we are doing.

Need to create Buffer states... A friendly Pakjab puppet state should be created right between highly radical NWFP + unstable Afghanistan and Indian Kashmir + GB and Punjab.

Gift radical Urdu speaking Sindh province to Balochistan and set up a puppet satellite state..

Direct border to Balochistan & invest in mining and mineral operations + Iranian market.

This is not a PC game.

Creating states is well beyond INdian capabilities. Of course, Baloch secessionists should be encouraged, funded.  but from a distance. India does not need to get its hand dirty, not directly anyway.  Its already happening without the need for it.

After what happened with Bangladesh - the last thing we need is another hostile Islamic state next to us. The Balochis will dump India for China once they get independence. Islamists are the same. US will also get their tenterhooks into Balochistan if they do come into being - they are right next to Iran and they will do their best to turn them against India asap.

Countries that follow Islam are all the same.

You would be surprised what a 15-20 trillion dollar economy can accomplish..

Anyways this was ideal scenario.  I am very well aware that we don't have the capabilities to finish off Pakistan completely as of now.

But Pakistan won't split itself up.  It's a zombie state.  Pak military ISI still keeps iron hold on entire Pakistan.  It is their strongest institution since 1947.

BLA TTP alone stand no chance against them.

Without India decisively defeating Pakistani Military in its heartland it will stay intact.   Arab states,  (US & China will keep tussling for influence) in Pakistan.. they will keep Pakistan alive just about to be a menace to India and their own geopolitical interests.

A Hostile Islamic heavily militarized state with nuclear arms is right besides us right now anyway.

A balkanized region with no nukes will be child's play for a 15 trillion dollar economy like India.

We would heavily influence all of them.

Islam isn't going anywhere from Subcontinent. It is what it is.

Like someone already pointed out - I don't think 'splitting' Pak further really is that much of a big win for us. And does open up avenues for non-Pakistani enemies to threaten us.  Much rather we continue as we are at the moment. Dealing with a Pak that's "too big to fail", but also "too big and unstable to stop failing".

and where do the nukes go in balkanized Pak? Let's stop fantasizing about alternate realities that don't have a realistic chance of ocurring in this universe.

It may feel like a fantasy today. But these fantasies can become reality very quickly once things unravel. We have seen this time and again. We may not have the answers at this very moment. But rest assured someone is thinking about those questions.

As for buffer state, I am not sure it is a question of capability as much as need. We need something between us and Afghanistan that is relatively friendly.

Hearing some chatter about US taking over the safeguarding of nukes lest they fall into the hands of jehadi elements (more of a threat to US and Israel), though unconfirmed.... It will be a nightmare if some rogue elements get hold of it

Russia with 6000 nukes took only 20% of Ukraine even after 3 years ..

Pakistan is here to stay and we have to ignore their existence and focus on our problems  for our own good

Think This war will stay on as long as GB and Wakhan corridor is accessible to Pakistan. I know we can take that back, that to militarily. Someone, Someday has to make a call. I dont think we can take that call till 2035. So it will go on for some time

GB and Wakhan corridor cannot be reclaimed without decisively defeating Pakistani army in Punjab and Islamabad in Indian control.

There is no other way... All their supply lines run through there to GB..  those thousands of Mountain peaks and innumerable passes will never be reclaimed without cutting off their supply lines running through Pakistani Punjab.

Area is nearly as huge as Denmark with one of the toughest terrains on the planet.  Think of it like a Kargil ×10000 difficulty level.

It was the core reason British Intelligence advised Indian armed Forces that a spring offensive into Pakistan in 1949 will take a decade long war to completely reclaim PoK+GB and Indian military will have to square off with Pakistani ones in a long drawn battle.   No one could afford that.  Even in 1965 both sides struggled in Kashmir front to make sizeable gains

I too think anything between 2032-2035 is ideal time to finish off Pakistan.  This is the period when India will attain decisive overwhelming military and economic edge over Pakistan.
